Fair enough. For the record, I expected a close game and viewed Wisconsin as a slight favorite. I'll let the people who predicted a comfortable win by BC defend their opinion before calling them arrogant.

I was one that thought BC would win by a few, and there is rationale to back it up...
BC scored 5+ goals on teams 14 times this year. The previous 2 games BC scored 9 and 7. They beat the #1 team in the country 7-1. I believed, correctly, that if BC played like they did against Miami, that they would win handily. I think that's more than enough reason to believe that.
if you think you knew for a fact what was going to happen, it can certainly seem that way. the arrogant one is the one who comes around afterward and says "SEE, I KNEW IT!! I WAS RIGHT!! I'M SO SMART!!!!" actually..... you had no clue, you just guessed and you happened to guess correctly. if you think it was due to some years and years of vast hockey knowledge that you have and no one else does - that can certainly come off as arrogant. make sense? I'd say the same thing to anyone that predicted Wisconsin blowing out RIT.
btw, I certainly do not think all BC fans are "arrogant and condescending" and my ego is not bruised at all. actually, I'd been saying since the beginning of the tournament I wanted a UW-BC final and I wouldn't be heartbroken if we lost in the title game. sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.
and I have no idea why I tried to be reasonable in this thread.

or, how about "the Jerry York Invitational".
I wouldn't call it the "Boston Invitational" cause BU has only been in it once since 1998. Besides, they have their own Invitational, also known as the Beanpot.
to clear the air, I really meant no arrogance with this post. just trying to be funny. I don't think BC is the best program of all time. I know what Michigan, Denver, NoDak, Wisconsin and Minnesota have accomplished. And if Miami could have held on one more minute in the 2009 Final, we'd have finally caught up to BU! But you gotta to admit BC's been arguably the best overall program since 1998. We've been in the Frozen Four 9 times since then! that's what warranted this post. At this rate we may finally catch up to the Denvers, North Dakotas and Wisconsins of the world in another 10 years. whatever happens, this last decade has been a great ride for BC hockey fans. Thank you Jerry! Thank you Eagles!
and here's to hoping Miami gets to hoist a Championship trophy sometime this decade. keep your heads up Redhawks fans. It took us losing a few before we struck gold in 2001. You guys are definitely headed in the right direction. we haven't had a first time champ since 1993, so I'd love to see Miami or UNH get one in the near future.

you no doubt will............we also suffered but for a much longer until 2001 so, along with our HE brethren from Durham, keep at it, it will happen..........both great programs

Oh yes, we're so arrogant telling you Vermont fans that your program belongs at the kiddie table.
God willing, BC will raise their banner vs. UVM at Conte so you turds from Burlington can see what it's like to raise a banner worth getting excited about.
It was fun beating UVM and Miami in the postseason AGAIN. Only regret is that BC didn't get the chance to beat UNH again.

As far as Wisconsin fans are concerned, I thought they were great in Detroit. Of course, we kept hearing for two weeks if they were to meet in the title game how BC's speed is nothing new to them because they play in the vaunted WCHA. And yet their defense had trouble containing BC's speed all game long and was on their heels trying to defend it. All those NHL draft picks on defense too!
And of course BC was too small to beat the big bad Bagers. But... it was the BC forwards coming away with the puck along the boards most of the time. Quick hands and sticks beat the slow, big strength.
How could this be?
Wonder if this week will be revisionist history week...

BC fans aren't anywhere near as bad as they were back then. But they were as funny as hell...

On a thread involving two fanbases that can claim 10 national titles combined between their programs, maybe you can talk about how amazing Yale and Air Force were last year and what a tremendous accomplishment it was beating them so we can all laugh at you and some WCHA folks can see how much of a joke you guys are.

At least BC fans have something to be arrogant about. UVM fans like yourself act as if you'd actually achieved something and boast as if you have. UVM is a second rate program that has no right to say a thing to anyone until you, at minimum, win a conference championship.
