I think Gustavus will pull the upset. McLean is playing really well in nets right now, and they have some great speed. They need to stay away from Norberts on the physical side, and out of the penalty box, and if they can, I see the Gusties winning 3-2.

The key will be giving up the first goal. The winning formula for all 3 teams Wednesday was giving up the first goal and then scoring the next 3 for a 3-1 victory.

Seriously, I expect Gustavus to have good speed and skill but I don't expect them to have any more than St. Thomas. St. Thomas was very good in those departments and they wouldn't have walked thru the MIAC regular season so easily if the Gusties were better. I think the physical part of it will be the difference on Saturday just like it was last night. I don't see SNC coming out so tight this time and leaving the door open like they did early against St. Thomas.

didnt watch Nobert last night as I know they have a top flight team, I watched the Gusties and man they looked good,fast,and the goalie made a few great saves in the last 10 mins, should be a great game......

Teams tied 2 -- 2 in first meeting this season on Nov. 4 at the CCC.
Expected lineup changes for SNC from that game:
Out: Brown, Nemgar, Haque, Reinboldt and Bosch.
In: Higgins, McDonald, Dougherty, Perry and Jacobson.
Projection: SNC 4, GA -- 2.

Heard that people were standing in line outside of the SNC ticket office this morning, when it opened.
Expect a very strong crowd this Sat nite...

Tickets are indeed moving briskly for Saturday's game, but not at the level the Peters Cup championship was.

A couple of articles in the paper and some TV sports coverage this week would certainly assist this effort. I would believe that the local stations could actually turn away from Lambeau for at least one week.:rolleyes:

Seriously, your website and your local paper make little mention of this game. Does anyone in St Peter know you have a hockey game on Saturday?

I'm not sure where that popular belief is coming from because nobody here thinks it guarantees squat for this year. Gustavus came to compete a couple of years ago and I expect them to again. My personal opinion is simply that this SNC squad is a little bit better and will wear them down enough over 60 minutes to win. It will do so without the assistance of any trophies given based on prior accomplishments.
