NCAA Northeast Regional: Maine (3) vs. MN-Duluth (2)

Re: NCAA Northeast Regional: Maine (3) vs. MN-Duluth (2)

Gonna be way too much maroon and gold in the regional final game for my tastes.

UMD is a tough draw though. If they get going, they're tough to beat.

Don't you mean maroon, gold and khaki?

Congratulations to Minnesota-Duluth. Turned it on when they needed to. Maine did not take enough advantage of the first 30 minutes.

Game Dogs.

Jack For Hobey

I gotta say... after seeing the stacked Bulldogs, I can not say that Jack deserves this more than Austin Smith does.
Jack never faced a team that had to key totally on him, like Colgate did.
Jack did not particularly impress me in this game... nice shot on the PP, other than that, not so much.

Spence did not earn the hobey in this game either.

Last, i have a feeling that the poor statistics for UMD's PK, is mostly due to who they had to play against all season long....

oh well.
best of luck the rest of the way.
UMD has a he1l of a team

Definitely not my most enjoyable game, but glad for the result. Could have been Maine's for sure, not even considering the fluke goal for UMD. Reiter had at least a couple that I would have said should have been goals.

It's probably just me as a Minnesotan, but I swear UMD just beat Blaine. :p

Stat of note: UMD still has not lost a first round NCAA game in their history. (sorry St. Cloud State :p)

Thanks.
Kinda the never ending debate. What could Jack have done playing for Colgate and what could have Smith done in the WCHA? Both are clearly special players and wouldn't be too upset either way.
