Even BU's ex goalie Curry would have been awed by the net being knocked off. A masterpiece. :D

Since UMD knocked the net off, and the net didn't have anything to do with the play...no whistle until the team that knocks the net off gets possession.

which earlier a Maine player knocked the net off and they stopped play. The announcers made a deal about the "hustle" of the Maine player who knocked the net off (even had an instant replay) about it. Yet both the announcers and refs obviously didn't recall that, let the play go and Maine scores. The announcers talk about Maine having puck possession and it's no big deal, but UMD had puck possession and there's a stoppage.

UMD still should have played to the whistle, but they got jobbed.

that what apparently the head of officials was saying. That rule makes sense to me. Still, I seem to recall the earlier incident the ref stopped play immediately, even when UMD had the puck. Maybe I'm not recalling right. Maybe UMD wouldn't have scored.

Still, I'm wondering if UMD was recalling the previous episode, so they stopped.

UMD still should have played to the whistle.
