NCAA East Regional Final -- #3 UNH vs #4 RIT

Re: NCAA East Regional Final -- #3 UNH vs #4 RIT

No. UNH controlled the first half of the first period. They controlled play and moved the puck out of their end seemingly effortlessly.
I think RIT made some adjustments, a concept heretofore unknown to Mr. Umile.
Then, RIT controlled the game 100%.
Always a critic :p

Re: NCAA East Regional Final -- #3 UNH vs #4 RIT

Is this the same RIT team that was 0-6 in nonconference play during the regular season, including losing by a combined score of 9-1 at Mankato State, and that plays in a league that went 9-47-5 against nonconference opponents.

Wow.

I believe those games were at the start of the year. A lot can change during the year, but yeah this is surprising.

Wow.
Enter Dick Umile coached team who believes they can win just by showing up.

Wow.

A hot goalie and a team that believes they belong and want it more than the other team.

This is why I/We love college sports, anybody can win on a given night.

(Yes, I realize that the UNH supporters aren't loving college sports right now, however I think we can all agree it is good to see the underdog be successful for the most part.)

A bit like Cornell's final one last night. Glad to have it even so.

Re: NCAA East Regional Final -- #3 UNH vs #4 RIT

Regardless, congratulations to RIT for dumping two of the sacred cows of D1 Hockey.
Couldn't Umile, at $385,000/year, at least wear a different tie the second night of the tournament?

Hey Snively
breaking out the bourbon tonight, maybe some everclear to make this game go away:D

ENG for RIT to make it 6-2 Tigers.
Well, Dean -- it's been fun chatting with you one the threads this year... hope you and yours have a great off season.

This was a club that was picked to finish 4th in Hockey East this season, and that definitely had its moments. What annoys me about tonight is the nagging feeling that there were stretches where it sure looked like we got got out-efforted...

Whatever, probably your best team for a while couldn't make the tourney and Whitehead is getting an extension! Enjoy the fact that Maine will never be a national powerhouse ever again! :D

He just has to have everclear today, you're going to be having everclear forever, for years to come. :)

Congrats RIT!

Re: NCAA East Regional Final -- #3 UNH vs #4 RIT

Well the pain is over. RIT with a much deserved victory tonight. Quite frankly, UNH really went further than I figured they would at the start of the year. Making it to their 8th straight tourney in what was supposed to be a down year is pretty impressivve.

I'm really happy for Bobby Butler and his Hobey calibre senior season. Thanks to all the seniors and best wishes in all your future endeavors.
