NCAA East Region Semifinal #2 - Cornell vs. UNH

Re: NCAA East Region Semifinal #2 - Cornell vs. UNH

ENG, as Thompson tries to chip it to Butler and accidentally scores. :p

Re: NCAA East Region Semifinal #2 - Cornell vs. UNH

As a UNH alumnus and hockey fan, it does not get much better than this.

Re: NCAA East Region Semifinal #2 - Cornell vs. UNH

Well -- awesome year even so for Cornell sports (even if it's the second night in a row of getting eliminated by Wildcats wearing blue and white -- wink).

Fun chatting with everyone here, particularly (alias) "Kenny".

Re: NCAA East Region Semifinal #2 - Cornell vs. UNH

Great win for UNH. That replay goal really seemed to unsettle Scrivens, it was downhill quickly after that.

Re: NCAA East Region Semifinal #2 - Cornell vs. UNH

The beauty for UNH of having a marquee player like Butler is that he can't be stopped, but you have to try to stop him anyway. Then it's too late, and so much for the game plan. Great effort for UNH, congrats to Mr. Umile and the team.

Re: NCAA East Region Semifinal #2 - Cornell vs. UNH

Cornell had no answer for UNH's speed tonight. One more win and I might have to pull those Frozen Four tickets off the For Sale board.

Re: NCAA East Region Semifinal #2 - Cornell vs. UNH

For once, I agree with billb. As a UNH Alum (albeit a bit more recent than bill) and hockey fan...an awesome day. That being said...

1...We want more!

Re: NCAA East Region Semifinal #2 - Cornell vs. UNH

Congrats and good luck to UNH. You thoroughly outplayed us tonight.

Take care, Snively!

You take care as well, Josh (if I remember correctly) -- it's been a true pleasure chatting with you.

And moving to things that really matter, congratulations on your second little one. I often thought that would mean 1.5 times the work (economies of scale, or whatever), but I'm warning you now that it's easily thrice the effort, as there's no 'down time'. Even so, I'm happy for ya'!

Re: NCAA East Region Semifinal #2 - Cornell vs. UNH

Hey guys, and gals,

I was watching the game, but it was PVR'd as I was at a ball game today. Wow, I love Bobby Butler. He is absolutely the man. What a great game all around. Except for one brain fart at the end of the first period that was the most complete game I've seen UNH play in a very long time. I just hope they saved some goals for tomorrow.

BTW, Barry Melrose is the stupidest human being on the planet. Heck Barry Melrose is the stupidest life form on the planet.

Re: NCAA East Region Semifinal #2 - Cornell vs. UNH

One other observation from the game. That is twice in two years in the tourney that a puck has gone through the mesh. I may be wrong but I have always been under the impression that the purpose of the mesh was to keep the puck inside the net. If that's the case, why not put the mesh loose enough on the net so that there's not that much tension on it? Allowing the mesh to bulge would keep the puck from sailing through the holes.

Dean.. totally agree.. loved Melrose saying, "Butler thinks he scored! But no..the puck is not in the net. WRONG!" And all the while I am thinking what a total tool this guy is....

I would love to, but it's looking pretty sketchy timewise (Trish just had her own biz trip abroad).

Missed ya' on the Updates thread, but I totally understand. I managed to get ESPNU added to our service late in the first period, and she gave me the big TV, so I was livin' large. Before that, there wasn't even an audio feed to be had (none through the usual UNH site at http://sports.yahoo.com/top/collegebroadcast/teams/nal , and none via WTSN either).

Wisco goes up 1-0 on UVM with 1 second left in their power play, but now a review may possibly be giving Vermont a tying goal. And it does -- 1 all!
