Without any serious research on my part, seems like Elmira should be ahead of Midd and Bowdoin...other than that the east rankings look reasonable..

Elmira has the No. 6-ranked strength of schedule, and of the games that help make it that high mark (two against Plattsburgh, one each against Norwich and Middlebury), Elmira is 0-3-1. A win next week against Midd wouldn't hurt them.

....and Middlebury beat them in H2H, in a squeaker earlier in the year. All of those things come into play. I would agree the game this week is big. With a win Elmira may move up, but if they lose I don't see them moving any higher, and maybe slide a spot

Re: NCAA D3 Rankings 2013

Not to get off topic, and in a field that is pure speculation, if form holds (meaning there are no events like an upset of say Gustavus) would the current ranking mean the NESCAC gets 2 Pool "C" bids?

Doubtful because Middlebury or Bowdoin will have to lose in the NESCAC Playoffs...granted so would Elmira..so maybe. Haha...the only thing thats guaranteed is that Platty and GAC are in I would say. I don't see River Falls getting in if they lose in the Peters Cup.

Hmmm...To the best of my knowledge there has only been one unbeaten season in D3, and that was Plattsburgh circa 2006....

While there are some big games to be played, this year could lead to a clash of two unbeaten teams heading into the final four/final.

It was actually 2007 and yes that is the lone unbeaten season in NCAA D3 women's history. Cards went 27-0-2.

Now with today's loss vs. Midd, Elmira is 5-4-1 against NCAA-ranked teams, but no wins against teams ranked ahead of them. 5-0-0 against No. 6 Amherst (1-0), No. 8 Manhattanville (2-0) and No. 9 Utica (2-0) combined.

OK, perhaps I spoke in error

Sorry, I didn't mean to make it feel like an attack on you, I just quoted you because it was pertinent to what I was commenting on. Be it by accident or otherwise, it would appear the committee got it right.

Didn't feel attacked at all...I debated putting a little "emoticon" after the post to show my good spirit, but opted not to! No worries..I now wait to see how the girls matchup at Amherst went...
