3-2 Union and they showed UND fans high fiving one another. Minnesota and UND aren't messing around when they say they're rivals. Wow....

If Yanni was the ONLY musician we could claim, then maybe it'd be easier to joke about, but he's not.

Same as if our Bass Fishing Natl Title or our Dance Team Natl and World Titles or our Quiz Bowl Natl Titles or our Chess Natl Title or our Solar Rayce Car Natl and World Titles were the only Natl Titles we could claim, THEN it would be easy to poke fun at all of those things. But they are just IN ADDITION to Natl Titles in all 4 of the major sports, football, baseball, hockey and basketball, along with wrestling, golf and track and women's hockey as well.

PTFE was accidentally discovered in 1938 by Roy Plunkett, in New Jersey while he was working for Kinetic Chemicals. Renfrew was working for DuPont in NJ as part of their commercialization process. Important contributions for sure but NJ and California seem to lead the pack in groundbreaking innovations (i am sure that will start a war but just from looking at the key developments (NJ, antibiotics, the transistor, lightbulb, etc)

Yeah, might start a war? I'm far more reasonable than I come across, lol. Having fun as much as I am serious, but am totally up for a challenge from either or both Cali and NJ in this regard.

Silicon Valley was a big thing, DuPont in NJ was also a big player, but I'm sure you realize that both DuPont and Silicon Valley got a lot of their players from other places, and Minnesota had 3M, Medtronics, etc.. so we weren't exactly a frozen tundra when it came to innovation.

More the latter of the options you gave me, but also because you are one of those Minnesotans that makes our state look desperate for recognition.

I partied pregame with Minnesota fans Thursday, I am amazed so many made to the arena!

"desperate for recognition."??? There is a difference between desperation and the simple enjoyment one gets from teaching the ignorant something they didn't know.


I love it when people come around thinking that we are nothing but a frozen tundra and a bunch of dummies.


I could care less if anyone recognizes Minnesota or not, to be honest, and in fact the less they recognize Minnesota the more I am energized and challenged to push the issue. If someone chooses to diss Minnesota, then I rise to the occasion. If they rise to the occasion and give UMn the credit they deserve, then I am left speechless.


It's not desperation. Minnesota and UMn have been underappreciated since forever, considered the Frozen Tundra, and we've always embraced the underdog tag. One bad thing about this hockey Natl Final, we are supposed to be the favorite but are the underdog, its confusing.
