The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.

We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
I saw her play in two games last weekend, and she was a standout, not just from a point production perspective.
Not suggesting she should or should not have been selected. Only saw a small subset of the games, so hard to evaluate/compare everyone on a small and limited sample size. Overall there was a lot of good talent on the ice this weekend, so that is great for the game.
Not sure what the All-Tourney selection criteria are. If you look at the list of players that made this selection, all of them played on teams that advanced to the Quarters. Skarupa's team was only fourth in their pool. Suspect that that is taken into account when making these selections. Maybe the selectors only view the games from the quarters on to make that determination. If they do take all games into account, consider that there are ~80 games across 4 pads in three rinks each day, so hard to see them all. The selectors may not have had a chance to see Washington play, or even if they did, maybe they watched their "off-game".
Sounds like a great event none the less, the NAHA folks put on a great tournament. I was at the July NAHA showcase in Burlington and it was first class. Will have to try to work this (labor day) in for next year..
Washington always gets off to a slow start as they only start practising a week before the NAHA tournament. Skarupa may have needed a few games to get on track, or the team may have faced tougher competion in the first few games. Choosing top players from the teams that makes the play-offs is a reasonable approach to ensure stats have not been compliled in a few high scoring games.

My guess is Haley had no real problems getting off to a pretty good start with 7 goals and 3 helpers ( roughly 80% of her teams scoring all week) but having watched the Pride a numer of times last year and Haley both last season and some over the summer I can say that she is without doubt one of the top talents in the U.S. in her age group, after her and that top line.... That being said the rules for tournament team were to make the quarters, fair enough. It is interesting to see some of these top players who have schools in their pocket still perform at a high level.
