Two teams who had very opposite weekends. UMD was shut out by a then two win Maine team and then killed by Ferris State 6-2. Tough to win a weekend of hockey when you only score two goals. Tech had a disappointing first half, Biddy thought they would be higher in the standings at this point, but they won their first GLI since 1980. That has got to be a real confidence booster for that program and fan base. Biddy just hopes UMD remembers Michigan Tech's last visit to tAA...hope that is motivation for them to win a game or two this series. Biddco can see any combination of wins happening during this series.

Kevin Pates our beat writer has said that MTU is visiting UMD next series non-conference next season and UMD will head to Houghton the next year. Biddco hopes they play every year in non-conference and Biddy believes there is a good chance of that occurring. UMD and MTU have been pod-mates and have scheduled each other since the 1950's. They also schedule each other in basketball and other sports so there is reason to believe they will continue to schedule each other after this season.

Of all the teams going away to the tNCHC, tUMD is the one that stuckinwi regrets the most by a long shot. stuckinwi also hopes the Huskies keep the GLI momentum going into the second half.

It would have been great to have all four Lake Superior teams (LSSU, NMU, MTU, UMD) the same conference. Who knows how this series will shake out!

That would require UMD wanting to be in a conference that sucks. I don't see that happening.

Biddy enjoying watching tUMD playing the Lake Superior Showcase/Cup yet there never was one made so it became a Showcase, but that is not how it worked out. Was bummed that Biddco never was able to watch UMD in tSoo or Marquette.

wolverineTrumpet enjoyed watching tHuskies win the GLI (probably because wT missed the first day and thus did not have to watch her team lose to Tech).

MS believes Wt, but wonders if she knows why all those wolverine fans left the building early during game 1.

wT acknowledges that many Michigan fans are only Michigan fans and not fans of college hockey as a whole. However, ther are many Wolverine fans that are fans of college hockey and watch games not involving Michigan.

Perhaps MS mistakenly counted wT as one of the Wolverine fans that "left", since wT disguised herself in a Tech hockey sweatshirt for the championship game and stood behind tSBFitW. wT also knows of at least one other Michigan fan/alum similarly disguised. wT believes she also saw a tUMD fan disguised in a Tech hockey jersey that day.

F2B&G addresses the Tech team, points to tonight's Robert Morris/Army score, and says, "That is what happens when you enjoy the afterglow too much; don't do that."

Biddco hopes UMD plays angry and motivated after their turrible weekend in Florida and what occurred last year in the series in Duluth...
