MSU-M @ SCSU WCHA Playoffs: Funny Seeing You Here

Re: MSU-M @ SCSU WCHA Playoffs: Funny Seeing You Here

does anyone know if Comcast in St. Paul will pick up the Charter broadcasts, and if so what channel they will be on?

Re: MSU-M @ SCSU WCHA Playoffs: Funny Seeing You Here

Last fives seasons the #3/#8 matchup has gone to the home team all five teams, and all were a sweep. The Seawolves were the last to win in this playoff matchup, winning in Madison in three games in 2004.

Nonetheless, I expect close games and the Huskies going to St Paul.

Re: MSU-M @ SCSU WCHA Playoffs: Funny Seeing You Here

Cloudy should win this one in two. My buddy bet me a case of beer at the begining of the year the MSU would finish ahead of UMD... not sure what he was smoking, but obviously it was easy money.... MSU has Pitlick which should help them in the future, but it just wasn't a good year for them.

Any truth to the rumor that an MSU kid slept with Jutting wife??

Re: MSU-M @ SCSU WCHA Playoffs: Funny Seeing You Here

As noted earlier, playoffs are a whole new season. I would assume our lack luster play against Kato will cease this weekend. Huskies sweep

Re: MSU-M @ SCSU WCHA Playoffs: Funny Seeing You Here

Rink, I think there is some serious truth to that rumor. Zz

Production, u r really going to use the playoffs are a different story? You realize that SCSU isn't a good playoff team right?

Re: MSU-M @ SCSU WCHA Playoffs: Funny Seeing You Here

I am banking on a change of pace, get out of the playoff rut, and yes I am pulling that card.....because it is a new season, and yes every start of a new playoff season my hopes are high

Re: MSU-M @ SCSU WCHA Playoffs: Funny Seeing You Here

IMO, Zabs and Johnson were constantly too deep, too often, in the offensive zone and the forwards weren't always rotating back. Hepp seemed about 2 steps slower than everyone.

I'll agree with all of those, however want to clarify that Zabkowicz did play too far up at times, I still thought he was good this past weekend. I saw the game live in Mankato and on the b2 Saturday, and he put together one of the best efforts on the weekend for SCSU, thoug did make a mistake or two. Johnson looked really bad, really lost all weekend, and I normally like Taylor, but he had a horrible weekend. And Hepp was pretty bad too. As bad as they played, we're lucky we only gave up 6 goals on the weekend.

got a question about tickets: are they gonna be on ticketmaster or do i gotta call the scsu number? i had been able to pick and choose through ticketmaster and get the seat i wanted for the games i went to this year by changing the search criteria a little bit, do i have that option by going through the scsu number?

Only guessing/remembering, but I'm pretty sure you can call up and get seats where you want, and I'd suggest that over TicketBastard.

Seriously, the tickets for Mankato were $18, but they cost us $27 a person because of all the **** fees, and Mankato for some reason doesn't allow you to purahase tickets over the phone, only in person, and I wasn't about to drive all the way down to Mankato to buy tickets. Definately figuring something out for next time.

Ouch, St. Cloud played so bad against Mankato this weekend, I really wou'd rather play a handful of other teams than the Mavs..

I disagree, I think I'd have taken Anchorage in a slight edge, but I'd WAY rather play Mankato than CC or MN, who are the other options we had. Not to take away anything from Mankato, but I think it was much more of a situation of us playing bad than them playing good.

Think of it this way, if we play like we did this past weekend, anybody with MAYBE the exception of Michigan Tech would probably get past us to the X.

After going 0-12 -2 the first 5 years. They are 11-6-3. That is not even getting a win in the best year the Mavs have ever had in 02-03.

That sums up SCSU's relationship with Mankato. When you guys have a good team, we take care of business. When you guys are bad teams, we're stupid and think we can get by on talent alone, which we can't, so we lose.

Mankato is to SCSU as the Detroit Lions are to the Vikings

Without Marvin this team becames very soft. The only physical player they have is Oslund and he offers very little in the offensive zone.

Yeah, but how physical is Marvin going to be now coming back? I'm not saying he becomes incredibly soft, but do we know?

Any truth to the rumor that an MSU kid slept with Jutting wife??

I have no idea, but from a fan's perspective, I sure as hell find that a funny accusation.

Yeah, and historically the Saints aren't a good NFL team. The fact is that SCSU teams over the years have choked, but Jared Festler, Oliver Lauridsen, David Eddy and those guys really can't be blamed for that.

Also, we've been alright in the WCHA playoffs, and obviously everyone knows our NCAA results, but from an MSU-M fan, I wouldn't go talking too much about playoffs, you're the one team that makes us look like a storied tradition when comparing playoff achievements. :D

Re: MSU-M @ SCSU WCHA Playoffs: Funny Seeing You Here

MSU 3/6 on Friday and 2/4 on Saturday for a 50% PP on the weekend. SCSU 0-5 Friday and 0 /4 Saturday.

MSU scored 1 even strength goal all weekend.

It is no coincidence MSU's PP thrived without the Huskies 2 key PK players.

I have a hard time believing Raboin will be anywhere close to 100% seeing how he skated onto the ice for senior night. Plus Marvin is still out Friday. So, SCSU has it's work cut out for them. They are not the same without those two boys.

I was at the WI /MN game today. Special teams ruled. A close game was erased by three consecutive PP goals by MN. Face it folks the officials will dictate many outcomes the balance of the season. Officiating is all out of whack right now. It's something to contend with and SCSU needs to be ready for special teams play.

5x5 SCSU wins. The Huskies are too skilled with Lasch and Roe not to eat teams up on the PP. But it "ain't happening".

The simple answer to that would have been SCSU historically is a very good first round team especially at home.;)

For God's sake Zabby was +4 this weekend. And, he should run with the puck anytime he gets a chance. He was outstanding against MSU.

Re: MSU-M @ SCSU WCHA Playoffs: Funny Seeing You Here

MSU fans: Please keep in mind you were outscored 4-1 5x5 this past weekend. That is not a good stat. Lots of negs in the plus/minus department for the Mavs.

However, I'm very paranoid about the officiating right now. That continues to be the wild card being that SCSU was 0-9 on the PP this weekend and MSU was 50% on the PP.

I thought it was total goals scored that determined who wins a game.

Re: MSU-M @ SCSU WCHA Playoffs: Funny Seeing You Here

I thought the first goal was fitting Saturday night. My father in law and I were commenting on how bad the shots were. Get something on net and something good happens with the short post softy that went in,

And in the end, that didn't matter, did it?

All season long we've done fine 5 on 5 and gotten killed on special teams. This weekend it was different. Okay by me.

Re: MSU-M @ SCSU WCHA Playoffs: Funny Seeing You Here

Has anyone mentioned that Mankato's 2nd goal on Saturday was a complete gift by the officials? That PP should have never happened.

Re: MSU-M @ SCSU WCHA Playoffs: Funny Seeing You Here

Did anyone else here notice that, due to the results of other series, we still would have played Mankato had we swept them?
