I was amazed how the Sprint race "could have been an e-mail," and then a complete 180 where Sunday's show was filled with strategy and good racing, especially among the mid-field when they finally decided to highlight it for three laps.

I was pleasantly surprised, too. Sunday was fun. Saturday, not so much.
 
And Piastri gets a 3 spot drop for tomorrow’s start for that pretty bad block on Lawson. Like right on the apex of turn one block.
 
Ouch, Charles. There was some kind of rear end issue going through Ascari prior to Parabolica. Wonder if there was a car problem.

What a race by the Silver Arrows!! Antonelli powering his way through the field. Russell sabotaged again by his own team when they pitted Antonelli instead of him (yes, the double stack would have hosed Kimi, but not as bad).

The yo-yo-ing to gap Verstappen was fun to watch, and clean too.
 
For a bit there it looked like Max was going to end up off the podium in 5th, but Oscar and Lando didn’t play nice with each other and let him scamper away at the end.

It was a weekend full of surprises. One thing that was not surprising however was a 20 year old Italian having no idea who LL Cool J is.
 
Mercedes again exposed how dumb Ferrari is as a team. I could not understand why they didn't pit Lewis under the VSC- he had no chance of holding off the McLarens. Fresh mediums would have at worst finished 6th and probably would have gotten 4th, AND would have let Lewis drive flat out like Kimi did.

That was an epic race for Kimi, though.
 
With how fast Kimi was, I'm surprised they didn't do the double stack even though it would've put Kimi behind Russell. Kimi would've overtaken Max anyway with the pace he had today.

Not a good day for teammate niceties. Ferrari had their run-in at the restart, then Alpine got into it during the second restart, then Mercedes and McLaren nearly had disasters at the end.

F1 TV analyzed it pretty good. He ran wide over the curbing, putting his left rear on the slippery drainage grate. It instantly kicked out.

Kinda interesting at the timing though, because unveiling a throwback to the Bin Laden sponsored car during 9/11 weekend is a *bold* choice...

The Race is reporting that the FIA and F1 are thinking of changing the rules to help Honda and Alonso

Nothing for Cadillac. Nor anyone else. Kinda feels that they are willing to let Red Bull go and keep L Stroll as a team owner.
 
I saw an article that said Fernando could keep the Aston sponsorship, but go racing elsewhere (like GT3 cars) and retire from F1.

And additional reporting was that his F1 contract renewal hinged on improvements in racing for next season. It also said that he wanted to see additional PU rules changes for next season to reduce the batter dependency and put racing back in the drivers hands.

Not as much chaos as expected around the Madring. I guess F1 drivers are better than F3 or 2. Who’d a thunk it?

That lap from Lando for pole was unexpected. McLaren appeared to be off the pace until he pulled that off. Really felt like it was going to be Kimi or Max.

Congrats Antonelli, but you got that because of McLaren mistakes. Seeing cars close fast and then just sit there makes for a boring race to watch.

I'm sure I'm jaded because I've watched plenty of races on banked tracks, but there's nothing special about that corner. Like may banked tracks, there's one line, and nothing else. And thanks to how dangerous it can be to go around, they have to keep an aero gap. So other than odd G's on the car, it's kind of pointless as a "feature". And the rest of the track is another high speed city track where you can't pass at all.

I hate to be so negative, but it certainly means that I wont make plans to see that live.
