MLB 2026: The dying of the light

PCA capped off the season with his 40th stolen base, getting him into the 40/40 club and likely guaranteeing he'll be the unanimous NL MVP. I was lucky enough to see him and the Cubs twice this year, including for his first career 3 HR game against Cincy.

His swing reminds me a lot of Griffey Jr.'s. Hope he avoids injuries and keeps it going, cause he's just plain fun to watch.
 
100 wins. First time in franchise history.

I am fully expecting to have my heart ripped out "Once Upon a Time" style by my team.

The Brewers are a fake team (they moved; the league bullshit) but I won't object to them winning.

Gonna root for an all-Chicago Series, though. First time since 1906.

Preferred teams: {NY, Bos, Clv, Chi} vs {Phi, Chi, LA}. 6/7 out of 12 is way better than usual.

I swear, if Kepler had access to a time machine - he wouldn't go back to stop the holocaust or assassinate Ronald Reagan.

Rather, he'd go back in time to stop any new teams from being added to professional sports after 1960.

Kep strikes me as "we're gonna prevent the Mets from ever being created, then assassinate Reagan, and if you behave, we'll get some ice cream on the way home."

In my retcon we get to Reagan before the Orange County Chamber of Commerce and he becomes the avuncular faced of the Second New Deal, with universal health care, guaranteed minimum income, and cradle to grave free education in academia or the trades, by reversing JFK's retreat from the highest top marginal rates and constitutional amendments protecting workers' rights and the extension of the first amendment fundamental rights to include food, clothing, shelter, health, income, and education.

I'd stop the Dodgers from moving. I am obviously a Brooklyn fan by temperament and birth.
