THIS TREND last Fall.
Well it has now trickled down to the High School level. And it's gonna be a complete shit show of epic proportions to officiate this coming Spring. Coaches are already specifically asking about the legality of it (nothing wrong with doing it on it's face).
The problem is gonna occur when collisions start occurring (between the runner and the fielder with the ball on the bag or a fielder without the ball beyond the bag). In a bases loaded situation, teams are already looking like they will just send the runner from 1st base out into short left field as a distraction if they can be safe at 2nd. This will allow the runner who started the play on 2nd base to possibly sneak home as a confused F4/F6 stand at 2nd base with a ball and a runner in short left field...
Oh the possibilities are endless here. And everyone thinks they can execute it to their advantage... Golly gee! I can't wait for the arguments to begin!
