Yep, still here
Tigers have fired Al Avila.
A month late (lets him do the deadline and the draft) but thank God
Tigers have fired Al Avila.

Washington advances to the LLWS after third base ump calls ball foul and the defense stops playing, but the home plate ump rules fair and that is deemed the official call on the field. After review, play stands.

As was mentioned on Close Call Sports' analysis video, there really isn't much to defend here. It was a fundamental breakdown of some Umpire 101 type stuff. That is U3's call all the way, not the plate guy. Also once you call 'Foul", that's it, end of the play.
At this level, the LL guys are usually pretty solid for what they are, but seniority also plays a factor with the assignments. I didn't see any other game film, but the HP Umpire did some stuff here that has me thinking "W-T-F?!"
They also have a headset during review that’s in contact with Williamsport, so no one in the command center thought to step in and say “hey guys you can’t make a dead ball live again”?
U3 should’ve made his case before they went to review, unless of course he wasn’t confident in the rule or if it was his call.
And yeah, agreed on HP. Betting he does basketball based on the “count it” signal he made on the ruling.
Tatis Jr: 80 games for a positive drug test.
Let me guess, it was an accident.
Yep and not a good excuse... ringworm medication.
I wonder if the DQ commercial with Tatis and some dodger player will get pulled?
deGrom is a freak.
