Whether he's out at the plate or not, the A's are in big trouble now.

Tape measure shot, my ***. It went down the line, and didn't get into the club seats or the 3rd deck. Yes, it was high and majestic, a no-doubter, but the broadcasters don't have to act like he hit it halfway to Harlem.

443, my foot. It's only 318 down the line.

Did not expect a Treinen meltdown. Oh well, fun season.

Now to figure out how the hell to make the pitching work next year, since we've still got like five pitchers recovering from TJS or other surgeries plus an up-and-coming prospect in Luzardo.

Don't they "measure" it where they estimate it's going to land if there was nothing in the way based on the trajectory?

And it was the hardest hit ball off the bat this year according to statcast. So yeah, "gargantuan" is perfectly okay...

The hell was that pitch to Moustakas on the Brewers walkoff? You're in control 0-2, don't go to the literal same exact location. Ottavino's got nasty stuff when he's on, you can try and get him to chase...

Sanchez with his second dinger of the game, and this one went to Mars. Goodness.

I see Denver is having one of its 300 days of sunshine for todays game.

Yeah, it is unusually cloudy here today. There's also a mist (at least where I live...about 30 miles east of downtown), and below average temperatures, which has made it pretty chilly. I certainly would not want to be playing baseball...a feeling I apparently share with the Rockies. :p:D:D

Re: MLB 2018.1: ...And The Nationals Will Not Make It Out of the First Round

High school teams can execute fundamentals better than some major league teams. LA is just as likely to score a runner from first as they are to score him from 3rd with fewer than 2 outs or from second with no outs, not because the offense is so prolific, but because if they can't hit it out of the park they can't score. If I wasn't a Dodgers fan, I couldn't watch them play. Watching them fail to score without hitting a home run (which is the norm for plenty of other teams too) has become predictable. When they had runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs and a 3-0 count on Muncy in the 9th I sent a text to my cousin saying "game over." He thought I meant Muncy was gonna drive in runs and reminded me LA would have to get three outs in the bottom of the 9th. I let him know I meant, no, game over as in LA is gonna to make 3 straight outs without scoring.
