Are the cis okay?
The White Sox told Adam LaRoche to stop bringing his son to work so much, so LaRoche retired.

I've heard this a few times on morning radio. Some guys have been defending him, others saying that not many work places let you bring your kids to work more than once or twice a year. It makes me wonder if the GM made the call or the field manager asked him to do it. Perhaps they just didn't want to pay LaRoche's contract and found the cheapest out on it.
I agree with this entirely. I don't understand any of the indignation -- the workplace is not an appropriate place for your kid. Whether it's a business or a locker room, people should be able to be adults without having to mind themselves because a kid is present. If I want to talk about drinking or misbehaving or my love life, I don't want to feel like I have to hold back.Well, they're right, the Sox are, that is. You can't expect to drag your kid to work all the **** time.
you can't be surprised she's all about the diamond

How can she be Mrs. Met before the wedding?
There is some discussion of this in the Comments.
My contention is that Mr. Met got her an inexpensive ring when they were first starting out and struggling. Now that he has money he sprang for the more expensive ring.
There are scurrilous suggestions from other sources that it's Mr. Met who has cashed in, and long suffering Mrs. Met, Boy Met, Girl Met, and Baby Met have been fobbed off for a hot new trophy wife. This accords with the fact that a couple off seasons ago Mrs. Met suddenly got a lot hotter, and apparently a lot younger, and that she doesn't much resemble the s-x kittenish Lady Met who started it all.
My favorite line is "at least somebody got a ring out of last year."
