Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

As I no longer take much advantage of winter - don't ski much anymore, don't play hockey outside anymore, don't have a rink in the backyard anymore, etc. - I'm starting to really wonder why the **** I live in this climate.

**** this. I want my deck back.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

It's supposed to be 44 today. 4-9" in the next 30 hours or so.

It hit 50 today in AA and I was driving around with the windows down. Tomorrow I'm going to be all bundled up to plow the gorram driveway again! *Weeping and rocking in a corner*

At least we got a good healthy amount of the snow pack to melt off around here recently. Dealing with some drainage and some minor flooding in our barn here. Had to trench through some ice on the ground to help drain water away from the barn, but that's going to freeze up as soon as that snow hits. :p

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

Horray! Ann Arbor has now had our snowiest Winter on record.

Can't wait to go home and shovel.

I'll be happy when it all melts and I can rake all of the gravel back into our driveway again. That thaw had melted into some of the ground here and I could really only skim with the blade today or else I would have been taking way too much of the gravel out of the driveway. And it didn't help any that there was so much melt water in some spots that it was pretty much like wet cement right there. I probably really should have gone out and dug a trench to drain off more of the melted water on the driveway.

At least I didn't have to go to work today. They opted to be closed all day on Tuesday in advance of the storm. Nobody would have been on time for their appointments anyways.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

I get off the train yesterday and I'm walking to my car, and I notice that there are piles of snow lying in front and back of every car there. Apparently it snowed in the morning and then the snow slid off the roofs, hoods, and trunks, onto the ground.

Had it snowed today instead of yesterday, it would have been a droll April 1.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

Not much for snow here. Just a very, very light dusting, but it looks like it might be icy on the side streets. Still have about a foot on the ground, though.

It's really icy down in the south metro, I had to catch my balance twice because of it. The snow is pretty much just a dusting, but it's making for a nice lube on top of the ice.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

Looks like we're going to get snowraped later this week. Awesome.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

Rained pretty hard here last night...had a decent sized layer of ice covering my car this morning. Small dusting that is long gone by now. Not a lot of snow left here, either...

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

The nice thing about spring storms like the one that is coming is that you don't have to bother shoveling it. The sun and temps will take care of it in a couple days.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

Oh my was that storm terrifying. I had to slow down by 5-10 mph on one of my drives, and the snow is pretty much gone already.

I hate Belinda Jensen.

We didn't touch the driveway, already gone. We were pummeled up in the northwest suburbs, too.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

We got quite a bit of snow here. Drive wasn't too bad though. Down to 40 on 394 this morning. Only down to a few inches left when I got home...

Heck it had stopped snowing and was sunny out when I finally got up at noon. There was a solid 4-5 inches overnight, though.

(that's what she said)

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

Today's weather was almost enough to get someone all hot and bothered it was so nice.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

Goddammit. Why did weather underground have to change again? Every update it becomes dumber and less user friendly to those who used it because it was the antithesis to weather.com.
