Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

Power never even flickered in my corner of Anoka County. :)
We got one flicker and that was it. Looking at the outage map on Xcel's site...St. Louis Park got pretty well hammered. My friend in Plymouth got her power back last night, but the other side of our block was still dark as of 2 AM.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

Another very heavy downpour with high winds in Washington county at the moment.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

What the hell were you thinkin leaving your windows open around here? You know it rains all the * king time.
I heard something about a reduced chance of rain today, and opening my car door has been akin to walking into a steam bath these last few days. So I cracked the windows on the passenger side windows, the eastern facing windows, today.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

A second torrential downpour, again with wind about twenty minutes after the first subsided. Enough already...grass is green. A lot of standing water everywhere. Cultivated fields...farmers gotta be getting ****ed.

They already are. A whole bunch of them missed the corn planting deadline. Crop insurance forms had to be submitted 16 days ago.

Yeah, its late June. unless you're way down south, you're going to be SOL with trying to plant corn now. Maybe Beans if you're lucky and just want to do it mostly to put some nitrogen back into the soil, not so worried about the yield that they would get off of the field.
Farmers are always ****ed.
A farmer is never 10 days from *****ing about the rain, whether they're getting too much of it or not enough.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

Corn must be planted by about June 5th, and the last day to plant beans is July 4th.

This nearly non-stop parade of storms in PA is making me realize why people in the Pacific Northwest are such loons!

Please just make it stop before we float to Delaware

Welcome to the last half of March, all of April and May, and the first half of June in the State of MN.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

MN is trying to play the "matching numbers" game. It sucks. As of right now:

77 degrees
73 dew point

The dew point is projected to be like this for a few days. Mother Nature can have all my nopes.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

I'd take days like today over most winter days. Easily.

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

Just taking a break from the pool to say that this is a BEAUTIFUL day. Back to it!

:D

:p

Re: Minnesotans Still Arguing About the Weather...

To sweat is good. I'm been watching a landscaping crew working on a neighbors project the last few days, including today. Wearing flannel shirts underneath hooded sweatshirts with hoods up...haven't seen them discard any clothing or even drop their hoods at any point in three days. Apparently they're unaffected by the heat. ;)

I have a friend in the roofing business. Does those flat roofs with the hot tar. Glad I don't work for him.
