Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 2/6 & 2/7

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 2/6 & 2/7

It is a Basketball arena, so I can see where you would get points and goals confused.

I was talking in the general sports sense...since SanTropez just said team, not hockey team. Correct, in hockey and individual will get a point for a goal or an assist. However, the team only gets points for goals. These are what go up on the scoreboard and determine the winner.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 2/6 & 2/7

I didn't know Wisconsin was in Australia...it does explain a few things.

Do not disparage Australia by lumping in Wisconsinites with them.

Australians drink good beer! (not that Fosters Crap, but VB!)
Australians don't speak with a funny accent
Australians treat cheese for what it is, not part of the basic 2 food groups
Australians purposefully drive on the left side of the road
The only similarity is that the country colors of Australia happen to resemble "That Team That Shan't Be Named"

So, wondering now if mustache Eaves and mullet Lucia had entered the Thunderdome, who would have come out?

I don't know for sure... Mustache Eaves was a much better athlete, but mullet haired Lucia was sneaky and smelled funny.

Not to interrupt this fabulous flow with hockey, but reportedly, here the Badgers lines for tonight with Rumpel in goal:

Forwards

Kerdiles-Zengerle-Little

Zulinick-Dahl-Mersch

Navin-LaBate-Besse

Paape-Meuer-Soleway.

Blue Liners

Schulze-Simonelli

McCabe-Faust

Wittchow-Drake

New combinations up front with Barnes out and Kerdiles back in.

Soleway should be up on the first line and Little the fourth IMO.

Little does feel like a mish-mash on the top line. I do feel like he's capable of scoring some workman-like goals around the net (like Mersch with less skill), but it still seems like we're asking too much of him. And I say that as an unabashed Little Bros. fan.

Little's not up there to score. He's up there to get it out of the corners, play both ends, and most importantly, not turn the puck over. Jed has the physical skills, but he's still a post Christmas freshman. I like Soleway but if the game's on the line, I'll take my chances with Little's heart and maturity to get it done.

EDIT: Let me add this, I trust what Little is going to bring every shift, regardless of the score or situation. Jed's maybe more of a gamble that way only because he's young and less experienced.

I like how Navin's been playing and I think he'll give the 3rd line a boost with possession. And I like that we're talking about whether a player should play 1st or 4th line. Nice problem to have.

He's almost 20, so I don't think post Christmas freshman applies. Also, he is like 4th in total shots on the team, so he has the offensive game to match that line. Plus he is physical, much like Little. Nothing against Little, I love watching him on the ice.

Maybe it is a defensive decision rather than offensive.
