It's a Great Day for Hockey!

Just a friendly reminder to goferfans attending the game. What you guys quaintly refer to as "Tail Gating"

is NOT allowed in on campus parking areas.

Good to know, Wisko.

Gopher fans, when you see this on tap at all the bars, just know that at least you are only visiting.

Haha! That says it all! There was a time when I would start to get amped up for this series on Wednesday. The next couple of days, time couldn't go fast enough. I couldn't wait to get to the Coliseum or Kohl Center. (Gotta love my Minneapolis born wife who put up with me during those times!)

Recently? Ah, not so much. That said, I'll still be there, hatin' on the Gophers; prepared for the worst, hoping for the best.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 1/30 & 1/31

Similar to the series in Minnesota, I predict the Badgers will play tough for one part of one game and either tie or lose a close game and then get significantly outplayed in the other losing 4-1 or something like that. If they get totally dominated again during either one of these games, I expect them to get booed early and often.

I personally don't boo college athletes, even though this might be another double-digit-total-goal loss weekend. Not PC on my part, they just aren't getting paid to play. I DO yell a lot at the coaches though since they ARE paid!

I understand the concept of not booing the home team, especially if they are college athletes. With that said, they have lost 8 games played in-state by 3 or more goals (counting one in Green Bay and the U-18 game). I'm too lazy to do the research, but I'm guessing that might be an all-time high. That speaks to not playing hard for 60 minutes which is a boo-able offense.

Ironic that you're too lazy to look up scores. BOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Besides, despite what you may think (Hey, we're losing. Must not be trying!) the scoreboard isn't very often an indicator of how hard a team is trying, but is much more often related to how many mistakes a given team has made during the course of a game. If you want to boo Aaron Rodgers for throwing an interception that's one thing, but booing an 18 year old kid for making a bad pass and turning it into a two on one (which he already feels awful about) probably says a lot less about the boo-ee than it does about the boo-er.

First of all, I wasn't advocating booing of the team, I was just predicting it if they yet again get blown out at home, this time to their most hated rival.

Second, it's a better argument to say it's not cool to boo the home team because it's our team and they have enough problems. That I can buy. What I can't buy is the youth argument. As Badger fans, we have no problem heckling the opposing team (especially the goalie) which is also made up of young players.

Third, I'm not on a full scholarship to look up past scores.

Fourth, I hope it's all a moot point by having the Badgers come out and play well both games, win or lose.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 1/30 & 1/31

The Badgers are sitting in their locker room holding a dagger right now. We'll see if they can figure out how to use it.

Not yet anyway. In a few years we'll feel free to boo away! ;)

Haha, I get it, but I'll just get ****ed and kick the seat in front of me...only if it'd empty or has a maroon & gold patron in it. ;)

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 1/30 & 1/31

The only prediction I'm comfortable with for this weekend is the Gophers look a vastly superior team for 4 or 5 periods.
Outside of that, and in terms of results...might as well consult the 8-ball.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 1/30 & 1/31

Staying home and missing the evil gopher series for first time in 7 years, can't fathom driving 2 hours to watch them suck of the ice.
Going to SNC women hockey tomorrow and for the first time in my life I won't be upset unless of course Bucky wins 8 to 3 like Coach Sauer did Jan 2002
