Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 1/30 & 1/31

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 1/30 & 1/31

Speaking just for Minnesota, I do hope the players have a much better attitude than its fans, me included. I also hope Minnesota's players are more upset than Wisconsin's. Time to get angry, and maybe a little mean!

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 1/30 & 1/31

I'll say this. As an outsider who is obviously not a Minnesota fan, I really don't get your team this year. Most of the guys from last year returned. Average to above-average freshman class. No real major or extended injury problems to deal with.

I've seen references in various locations to "locker room" issues and the like. I don't get how that exists either. You've got coaches who've worked together for a long time. A lot of the same players from last year. And the team even came out of the gate playing well.

I will say I've always wondered about teams where there is either a coach/player relationship on the team, or maybe brothers on the team. Whenever UND has had brothers, like they do now, I've always worried about a scenario where one brother isn't happy and infects the other, along with those on the team they are closest to, but I don't even get that sense with MN. Very puzzling to say the least.

This has me puzzled as well for the same reasons you laid out. At least Wisconsin could go with the youth factor, but even that doesn't fully explain what is going on. My best guess is that both teams personalities of players didn't meld together and they thought they are going through a "sophomore slump" of sorts. Where MN thought they could just go through the motions and win all the time.

So let's say Bucky ends up with 5-7 wins and Goldy ends up with 16-19 and misses the post season. Which fanbase should be more upset?

I would think it would be us, you guys lost quite a bit of talent and scoring from last years squad. A down year was expected, maybe not quite as down as it has been for you guys but still the point remains. We did lose some important pieces of our lineup from last year, but nobody thought we would have the struggles we are having now going into the season. We even started the season 7-1, so yeah I think it's worse for us.

The good news is if they can get their heads screwed on straight we have the talent to make a run and get into the NCAA tourney, then go from there. We'll see.

Isn't there an invitational tournament that teams who miss the NCAAs can play? Like the one the goof bball team plays in every year?....NIT or some such?

Why bother posting? I'll just be accused of sandbagging again.

After seeing the results of last weekend the way UM manhandled UW, the rodents the week before REALLY peed themselves badly against UW. Any normal rodent team would have destroyed UW way worse than UM did. Please accept my apology on the sandbagging accusation. Your team does truly suck.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 1/30 & 1/31

This has always been true. This year is no different. Half the people at the hockey games just followed the crowd to the Kohl Center assuming a basketball game was on tap.
Was that the game where they lost something like 59-0 to Ohio State?

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 1/30 & 1/31

Yes. And everyone was confused by the truck driving in circles at halftime. And desipte the shutout, people stayed- because Dippin Dots.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 1/30 & 1/31

The Gophers can get some confidence back this weekend and start winning some games to get back in the NCAA's thanks to Becky.

Gophers sweep!

As long as we are still better than you, we can at least take some consolation away from this season.
