Minnesota @ UMD 2/27/10

Re: Minnesota @ UMD 2/27/10

He's got something up there, alright. But I think it's related to a horse.
SOG are 26-13 UMD, yet scoring chances are just 9-7 favoring them. Gotta love the "throw everything at the net from the perimeter" approach they are taking (save for the handful of actual rushes / chances they've had).

MN's inability to finish is going to once again be their undoing. At least nothing is going in off skates tonight, so I guess that's something.

They're just hitting the pipes and the tip of Hjelle's skate. :(

Re: Minnesota @ UMD 2/27/10

For the game as a whole, this is some really sloppy hockey by both teams. tUMD has just been less sloppy than MN.

They've also hit his glove a couple times too.

I wouldn't say UMD is less sloppy than MN - the teams have looked equally bad tonight. The only difference in this game is UMD converted on a couple chances - MN whiffed on two breakaways and hit the pipe twice. If any of those opportunities were converted, we're probably in a 2-2 game right now.

In other words, it's the usual tight arse game between these two.

Re: Minnesota @ UMD 2/27/10

Funny how the refs didn't hesitate to give UMD several powerplays in a row earlier in the game, yet with MN on one of their rare powerplays, they won't call anything on UMD regardless of the infractions committed.

Not that it really matters - MN's powerplay is atrocious and nobody can ever seem to get to the loose puck near the net for the easy goal.
