Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

I think we need an investigative report on where Gardy and Ullger needed to go...Maybe they picked up some hookers and blow.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

I'm really excited for you guys for tomorrow's official opening. I hope a bunch of you get to go. Nothing better than the home opener in a shiny new home.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

Disappointing loss, but I don't blame the play at the plate. I blame HR Blackburn and our inability to score more runs on a less than perfect Buerhle early on.

A nice 5-2 road start, but that will be ruined if we come out and drop 3 to the Red Sox.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

I heard the reasoning on why Ullger sent Hardy, and I can see why he would have done it. Thome was up, so the shift was on, Thome hits it to left opposite the shift, so the normal cuttoff man is out of position. Ullger knew this and sent Hardy expecting the cutoff man not to be in position, unfortunately, Teahen saw what was going on and left 3rd base to be the cutoff man in place of the shortstop, completely burning Ullger's decision.

The other reasoning I heard was, "well, he knew Punto was up next" :p

Tried watching some of the pre-game show. Made it about 30 minutes before I getting annoyed by LaPanta, Robbie, and Ann Carrol.

I mean really, how is Robbie asking Jim Thome and Joe Mauer if they found their parking spot in any way compelling TV??

His explanation scares me more. So he wasn't paying attention and out of position? The cut-off man had the ball about the same time Hardy got to third - more than enough time to hold him up, especially given there was no one covering the bag.

Well? :)

T-1 hour until I leave work for the day and head downtown.

Maybe Robbie will ask you if you found Target Field ok and if you went to Metrodome by mistake....

Did you know the dome & Target Field were only 12 blocks apart? This should have been mentioned during one of the games last week. ;)

I like how the arrow going towards Target Field stopped what looked like two or three blocks away from it. Must be a huge block.

If we turned the "outdoor baseball fellatio" into a drinking game this could be a fun day :p

I'd be out before first pitch.

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

Wait, GB Leighton made a song/video for the Twins? How is this the first time I have heard about this?

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

I just won tickets to today's game on Facebook from the ESPN 1500 Facebook fan page! Time to leave work!

Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: The Return of Outdoor Baseball

I have the same feeling of apprehension before this game that I did when I went to UVM's first home game in Hockey East against PC. That went poorly.

Red Sox are 0-4 all-time opening another teams stadium. Of course the last time they did that was 1923...
