Re: Minnesota Twins 2010: Part IV - Thome's Quest for 600
I would hope they put Blackburn on the 40-man. I don't think they want to risk losing him.
They never took Blackburn off the 40-man roster. I was curious so I looked up the current 40-man roster, here it is:
Scott Baker, P, MLB
Matt Capps, P, MLB
Jesse Crain, P, MLB
Brian Duensing, P, MLB
Matt Guerrier, P, MLB
Francisco Liriano, P, MLB
Ron Mahay, P, MLB
Jeff Manship, P, MLB
Carl Pavano, P, MLB
Glen Perkins, P, MLB
Jon Rauch, P, MLB
Kevin Slowey, P, MLB
Drew Butera, C, MLB
Joe Mauer, C, MLB
Alexi Casilla, 2B, MLB
JJ Hardy, SS, MLB
Orlando Hudson, 2B, MLB
Nick Punto, 3B, MLB
Danny Valencia, 3B, MLB
Michael Cuddyer, RF, MLB
Jason Kubel, RF, MLB
Jason Repko, RF, MLB
Denard Span, CF, MLB
Delmon Young, LF, MLB
Jim Thome, DH, MLB
Jose Mijares, P, DL
Justin Morneau, 1B, DL
Nick Blackburn, P, AAA (Rochester)
Alex Burnett, P, AAA (Rochester)
Estarlin De Los Santos, SS, AA (New Britain)
Rob Delaney, P, AAA (Rochester)
Deolis Guerra, P, AA (New Britain)
Luke Hughes, 3B, AAA (Rochester)
Jose Morales, C, AAA (Rochester)
Pat Neshek, P, AAA (Rochester)
Trevor Plouffe, SS, AAA (Rochester)
Anthony Slama, P, AAA (Rochester)
Anthony Swarzak, P, AAA (Rochester)
Matt Tolbert, 3B, AAA (Rochester)
By my count, they have 1 open spot on the 40-man. Must be from when they dropped Harris from it at some point this season.
