game day, will Frattin be on the stat sheet tonight??? I think so 1 g 1 a

I'm excited for the series, it gives our guys a chance to bounce back against a team that is pesky and is a contender (allbeit only for the F5 :)).

I'll be up there Saturday and I can't wait! Top row (very top row), center ice, can get much better than that, but it'll be awesome being there.

No student section the weekend...will the band be there?

I disagree, those are some of the best seats in the house!
When I was a student, my friend and I would use those seats every game. Very top row, center ice on the student section side. We could stand all game with no worries about being yelled at and you can see the play on the ice develop nicely. :)

Purple Cow is the name of a well-known poem by Gelett Burgess, written in 1895:

"Purple Cow" - Gelett Burgess
I've never seen a purple cow,
I never hope to see one;
But I can tell you anyhow;
I'd rather see than be one!

More poetry from Robert S. Kane:
The purple cow I have unfortunately seen.
It is as you'd expect: crossed with an aubergine.
Standing in a field or laid out on a plate
it is as you'd expect: cross, and a mistake.

It is also a really great chocolate bar from Switzerland (or Germany or Austria--I don't remember which exactly) :)

When I visited that region of Europe 15-20 years ago, I survived on that stuff (and the Gümi Bears). I don't know if it was available in the US at that time, but it has been now for some time. If you love chocolate, I suggest picking some up ;)

I thought that Jutting was very premature yanking Cook; now I find out he hurt his back, and Murdock is apparently en route to Grand Forks.

I hope it is a very minor injury.

The Mavs got owned tonight.

Has Channing Boe's Jock been found yet?

Sioux Sweep

Re: Minnesota State Mavericks @ North Dakota Fighting Sioux 1/8-9/10

Yeah, Boe didn't have the best game. A couple bad penalties and then got burnt on the 1st two Sioux goals.

Re: Minnesota State Mavericks @ North Dakota Fighting Sioux 1/8-9/10

Zajac looked like nothing ever happened to him. He played great. I was impressed with Fratin too. He still has those soft hands. When you are young it doesn't take long to get your legs back but the hands can get a bit rusty. Hopefully he can pot one tonight.

Re: Minnesota State Mavericks @ North Dakota Fighting Sioux 1/8-9/10

The Sioux played very solid; I thought for a stretch there in the 2nd, the Mavs had an opportunity to get back in the game, but just couldn't put it together.

Really not good, Mavs, not good at all. Last time they looked this bad, they came back out for the next game Saturday and beat a very tough Wisconsin :) That game was in Mankato, however :o :(

Re: Minnesota State Mavericks @ North Dakota Fighting Sioux 1/8-9/10

2-goal scorer Knight for UND is out 4-6 weeks after his hattrick attempt last night with less than a minute to go (crashed into the goal post).

He's replaced by Cichy in the lineup for tonight's game.

Re: Minnesota State Mavericks @ North Dakota Fighting Sioux 1/8-9/10

Never noticed the wdaz on the blue and red lines on boards. I wonder how much that advertising cost, and how much to my cheaper smaller beer it contributed to. I was bummed to see 24oz not 32oz anymore

Re: Minnesota State Mavericks @ North Dakota Fighting Sioux 1/8-9/10

A well-earned sweep for UND.
The Sioux needed those 4 points. Gregoire with a monster 4 goal weekend. Great to see him breakout. The line of Gregoire/VV/Frattin had chances all game, both games.

Good luck the rest of the way, Mavs.
Pitlick will be a great player for MSUM in the future.
