I'm fully expecting the Mavs to be worse this year, and for the administration to continue to pretend that everything is fine.As much as I know your frustration for this team, don't tell me you're not excited for hockey to finally be back..

Hey, glad I stumbled in here from the other thread. In the other thread, MavsFan is busy proclaiming the end of the world. Good to see Mankato has some fans in here that aren't quite as pessimistic, haven't given up all hope, and may actually be willing to stand up and fight a little, rather than wallow in self-pity and blame.

You cannot lay the blame on the Big 10 and NCHC schools if you'll not willing to make an effort. I see in here that you, MavsFan, don't have the time to take matters into your own hands. Well make time.
When the old Broadmoor was torn down, CC didn't have an arena for years. You know what we did? Well, we started with bumper stickers - "Just Build It"... then we campaigned around the city. We raised money. We had nifty little purple commemorative shovels made. Maybe in the days before the internet, it was less easy to just give up and vent into the great electronic beyond until your program vanishes. But that's how it is done.
Mankato's only 39,000 people too. That's fewer people than a city council seat here - you could put a yard sign on every corner and a bumper sticker on every vehicle with $100,000. I am happy to help if you guys can figure out what your program needs to survive and a plan for getting there.

You really are an incredible jerk to come into a thread that has nothing to do with you to continue an argument that you're already carrying on in three other threads.
I have no intention of trying to get the Minnesota state legislature to interfere with UMD or SCSU choosing to leave the WCHA. First, it would be a fool's errand. Second, I wouldn't want them interfering in decisions MSU makes.
Nowhere have I "blamed" any of the NCHC schools for Mankato's problems. I just said that you're wrong to tell us that all will be fine in the aftermath, and that when programs that are barely hanging on are killed off by this stuff, and the reduced number of hockey schools causes the NCAA to cut the tournament back to 12 teams, you just keep telling yourself that this was a good thing for everybody.
Now, leave us alone. You've made it clear that you're happy to not have to watch CC play us anymore, so go celebrate your lofty status with all your new pals.

MSUM's atheltic programs do not pay for its self so they currently get checks.......

While I hate how this has played out and I've never supported it. I've noticed that Mavhockey14 has eliminated any reference to UND from his Sig. Have you now become a hater of the program? It's only a question and not a jab at any program.

Tommyboy! you big dummy. There are few Atheltics programs in the country that actually pay for themselves! Period. Virtually all of them are subsidized at various levels.
Now go home.

I have a lot of respect for MSU. They always play SCSU tough as hell. I enjoy the intensity of the games. I'd hate to see their fan base give up. I understand their frustration and hope to see some catalyst for positive change in the near future.

Seriously, now you're just being a dick. Your comments about Mankato and the surrounding area shows you know nothing of the local atmosphere, population concentration, or political atmosphere. Just stop. You say you're being a good guy, but seriously, you're being a dick. It's not like we can't figure out when people are patting us on the head and being patronizing. You're quickly becoming known for being a guy trolling for an argument.
