FWIW, I do not think the Malone hit was illegal - it was shoulder-to-shoulder. You could mayyyyybe argue a boarding call there, but that would be pretty weak IMHO. The helmet coming off is what p***ed off the MN player (and thus the rest of the team as it made the hit look worse than it was).
