Minnesota @ Michigan State 11/26/11

Re: Minnesota @ Michigan State 11/26/11

I don't know how the people watching from home deal with that night after night. I'm starting to hate him more than Joe Buck. ANd he's quickly gaining on Ron Darling.

The only ways I deal with it are 1) I love the Gopher hockey team to death so I will likely never miss a game and 2) I am not sure I get a radio station here in Nashville to listen to the games outside of LaPanta's pro-Sioux announcing.

I'm not buying the "we played better they scored more" argument that the clowns on FSN are floating like last night.

It looks like MSU has been cashing in on their chances and we are getting stoned by our chances, but we are getting many. Hopefully the 3rd period will be different.

If you didn't notice the significant amount of time MN spent in MSU's zone relative to what they spent in ours, I don't know what more to say. While the score is the most important stat, it does not necessarily reflect the play. The only sustained pressure MSU had that entire period was when MN's top line failed to get off the ice; MN had several shifts of sustained pressure at the other end.

Gotta make your own luck. Stop reverting to missing the net or hitting the breadbasket all the time. This is a lot like Sioux weekend. They need to score ugly and it isn't happening.

They haven't had a lead all weekend. That says all I need to know.

Scoring chances 9 to 5 in favor of State.

Interestingly, FSN is calling the scoring chances essentially even in that period. Accounting for MSU's two goals, I'm guessing the other chances pretty much all came on that one shift in MN's zone.

Minnesota had more time in State's zone but again when State is in Minnesota's end there's activity around Patterson.

EDIT: and again that exchange.

MN scores on the PP but the refs wave it off - it went in off Haula's skate. Looks like he was not in the act of stopping. I don't see them calling this a goal.
