7 of the top 8 SOS are NCHC. UND had a cupcake non-conf schedule. No way to spin that.

The difference between 7th and 14th is not huge, and obviously UND is a way better team.

Where did you look? I checked USCHO first but there seems to be a discrepancy. USCHO has UND at 15, Minnesota at 13. CHN and SiouxSports.com has North Dakota at 12 and Minnesota at 15. Since the latter two were matching, I figured they were more current.

Not spinning anything. Just pointing out the fact that UND still managed to have a decent SOS. Also, based on what you said...the NCHC is like the SEC of college hockey! Might as well schedule ooc cupcakes since just going to beat each other up in conference play. Sorry, had to make fun of that SEC football logic. :D

Well, if you are in favor of a logistic regression and parametrics, then KRACH is your statistical methodology. If you're not interested in satisfying statistical assumptions of normality [nonparametric] then the RPI and pairwise comparisons currently used in NCAA men's ice hockey would be your reference. If you'd like to discuss the merits of both from a PhD advanced level stats perspective I'd be more than happy to engage. But not on this site.

they miss us. Without the Big Ten schools, they are just a no name conference that 350 millions Americans have never heard of. the average American knows St. Cloud is in Florida, and North Dakota is in Canada.

Indeed, the average American is rather stupid and this is just more proof of that. Luckily for NCHC fans, we only have above average Americans.

The academic standards at the others schools are high enough to bring it above average, despite schools with the admission requirement that you know how to spell your own name (UND, SCSU)?

This is all you need to know about the source of all the vitriol from the the team formally known as the siouxage:

Untreated butthurt.

Imagine carrying that ending around - to your most hated rival - for a couple years without a chance for payback.

Combine that with what the NCAA did to UND and anyone can imagine why UND fans are, umm, sore.

Watching you guys get pounded by Shane Gostisbehere 2014, get bounced 1st round by Duluth last year, and limp around this year has been more than worth the outcome of the semi-final game. Well that and even Happy knows you guys are in a terrible league....

The Big 6 sucks.

That's hardly piercing insight.

But knowing that the Gophers carved the heart out of siouxage fans in a most crushing way - and that UND still has the bitter, acid taste of that defeat still in their mouth - is sweet consolation in a down Gopher year.
