...the only way they're going to win is if they outscore the other team...
That's some fine analysis there Scoob. Any observations about the apparent link between rain and things getting wet?
I know it was in the context of "our team gives up too many goals right now, so we have to have the offensive pressure to keep up", but I had to shake my head a little bit when I read that line.
Have you checked the goaltending stats of one Mr. Wilcox over the past two months? I think he's in the bottom 10 in the NCAA. Got nothing to do with one weekend, it's been this way a long while.
So have both Ohio State fans already given up on this team completely, hence the lack of posts?
I saw a guy with an Ohio State Hockey sticker on his truck when I was driving home from work yesterday. I almost drove off the road...Do they have two? Wow. That's more than I thought.
I remember how excited I was to buy tickets to the Michigan St series as a family Christmas present and take my family to a game and my mom to her first game at Mariucci......yeah......So Really, without Reilly, do the Gophers have a chance to win a game this weekend? I'll be there, in my usual seat, still hoping for the best. But OMG if they get swept, I may cry, and have cheap tickets for sale the rest of the way, as a long-time Gopher fan can only take so much.
The offensive zone effort was there this weekend, which was nice to see, but they forgot about the defensive side a bit here and there. The high slot and circles were open for Bucky and they scored a few goals from that area. Wilcox seems shaky right now too which is never good this time of year.
I still hold out hope they can win some more games and get into the tourney one way or another. Need to sweep at home this weekend.
I have no clue about Ohio State (other than record) can any Ohio State fans give us the scoop on your team?

Wisconsin tried this too and still picked up points both weekends they played the Gophers....This is going to be tough to get even a point this weekend i think. Minnesota is still IMO the 2nd best team in this league and Ohio state has never won at Marucci.
Just saw this thread today. Ohio state has struggled scoring for most of the year. They dont pass the puck well and have played terrible defense infront of the goaltender all year long. I knew they would have trouble scoring with the losses of McCormick and Dzingel but i didnt think it would be this bad. I am really disappointed in the way they have played defense. Like i said they lost Max and Dzingel but the biggest loss was Curtis Gedig the captain from last year. This team does not have a leader on the ice IMO and it shows. They have also had a problem taking the dumb major penalty. This is going to be tough to get even a point this weekend i think. Minnesota is still IMO the 2nd best team in this league and Ohio state has never won at Marucci.
Just shoot an average amount and you'll probably score plenty.Just shoot a lot. You'll score plenty.

I can't imagine that your team can be any worse than Wisconsin.
Then Ohio State will likely take points this weekend.[
Since Ohio state hasnt played Wisconin I can only go by what i have seen from Wisconsin on TV and think Ohio State is similar to them.

Just lots of negativity from fellow posters. Not saying that it wasn't warranted, but I didn't feel that bad about the weekend.
Even great teams have weekends where they may give up too many goals or don't play the best, it happens. Not saying this team is great, but I hardly think it's the crappiest team ever as you would think by reading the various interweb forums.
