Minnesota High School Hockey 2012-2013

You piqued my interest, so I googled the high school. Seeing that it was founded in 1958 gave me the answer.

Correct. Since their district covers four towns, it's a neutral name.

Not 100% sure it plays a factor, but at one time, there was definitely some dislike between Circle Pines(which was founded as kind of a weird hippie collective) and Lexington, which was generally a little more conservative.

Going for Hermantown over Breck and St. Thomas Academy over East Grand Forks tomorrow afternoon in Class A. And going for Edina over Duluth East and Hill-Murray over Wayzata tomorrow night in Class AA.

Puke! Down with all the privates tomorrow! ;)

Hope Hermantown plays EGF and East and Wayzata play!

That was my guess.

That is smart to do. I went to a high school that had a different towns name and I felt less pride for my school because of that.

Oh and definitely bummed that Centennial lost. Of COURSE that disallowed goal became huge later in the game. Oh well. Doesn't change the fact that I want Duluth East to win it all.

Fantastic classic Sports Illustrated article (circa 1983) on the Tourney.

So after getting your Xcel seating advice, a friend called last night with tickets to the Mariucci games this morning. Free tickets wins out! So me and the lad are here watching Moorhead and Lakeville. First time for us at Mariucci, too, which is cool.

I hope the Hermantown student section learned a lesson from the Grand Forks Red River student section when it comes to doing a Whiteout.

Glad they announced the limit on this game. Another 25 minutes and they come back at 8 AM to decide it.

Hermantown to the title game for the fourth straight year. Seeming they aren't private no one cares if they stay in Class A.

They probably should play up too, at least give it a try. Maybe they would have it they had won the championship the last 2 years instead of losing to STA.
