Minnesota Gophers 2012-2013 Part II: Mmmm, Iron City Beer!

Re: Minnesota Gophers 2012-2013 Part II: Mmmm, Iron City Beer!

Talking with a buddy pre-game, we decided that the one redeeming thing about the Friday game is that the Gophers played about as dead a game as they could, and basically lost 1-0 on a fluke bounce off a skate, then the ENG.

My concern was that I didn't like the complete and utter lack of effort. Tonight was a total 180 from last night. If they keep playing like they did tonight, I have no real worries the rest of the year.

Agreed, but the PP needs to start clicking. It's been not just bad, but Wisconsin-like the past 4-6 games.

DU: the most important series of the year. Not because it was worth more than 4 pts nor that DU was the best team.

But this is the recipe of how the Gophers lose (if they do) down the stretch. Defense always comes to the front in the NCAAs. The primary risk to this team is a defensive struggle where the opponent scores first. Hopefully the contrast between these two games sticks with the team for the next month and a half.

Exactly my thought too. Team defense needs to be a point of emphasis moving forward.

Did I miss the new series thread? Isn't it time for all the beaver innuendo to commence?

For those few who haven't looked, a Bucky sweep, and splits for UND and MN would mean a four way tie for the McNaughton by four teams leaving the WCHA.

Come on, man! This is the second thread where I've read this, and neither one even acknowledged the possibility that a Kato sweep, with a Bucky sweep and MN split would ALSO create a 4 way tie. I know it's not a likely scenario, but where's the love?

Don't act like a Cloud fan. It will get you the opposite of respect. :)

Is Kato now leaving the WCHA?

They nuke the Gopher- Beaver game thread?

I posted in it about an hour ago and now boom it's gone, I think.

Re: Minnesota Gophers 2012-2013 Part II: Mmmm, Iron City Beer!

I created a new thread, we'll see if this one can last. :)

Well so much for my getting an invitation.

Nah, go ahead and innuendo away.

I think it may have been me or Harley (ours were the only new posts from today) that got the last one blown away, I'm sure it was Harley. :)

Too bad. It was a quality thread. Sorry I missed the last few posts though. Would have loved to see what finally pushed it over the edge.
