Minnesota Gopher 2012 offseason thread

You really think tDon worries about stuff like that when putting his lineup card together? I don't.

I'm not saying Marshall will play forward either, I don't think he will.

This. It would be impossible to run a program if you worried about what every team that drafted the rights of your players thought about every little decision you make.

I'm not sure they'll move him to forward either, but the idea intrigues me. It would definitely maximize the talent on the ice.

Re: Minnesota Gopher 2012 offseason thread

i doubt detroit would panick about him moving to forward. he is a 7th round pick. they might welcome the move as him making the nhl as an undersized D man is a long shot (thats not a shot at him. a 1st rounder making the nhl is a long shot, much less a 7th rounder)

on another note- i wonder when the last offseason is that the gophers did not lose anyone early? it feels like it has only happened once or twice in the last decade..

Re: Minnesota Gopher 2012 offseason thread

not that this means anything, because it was written by a freelance hockey writer on a detroit red wings prospect website (and not a quote from one of their scouts), but I thought there was some irony in ben marshall's profile actually stating "Impressive offensive skills could make him an interesting forward project if defense doesn’t work out". of course the next problem would be the following year with 5-6 incoming gopher forwards.. (cammarata, fasching, lettieri, guertler, kloos, maybe nanne)

Actually, unlike many fans here, all I really demand from the Gophers is a .500 record, and no actions that are illegal, unethical, or on the front page because of bad behavior. I use my dislike for other teams, not the Gophers. However, if the Gophers are below .500 with that schedule, the going down the tube rants will be required.

Re: Minnesota Gopher 2012 offseason thread

All that matters to me is the end result (as in end of season). If they are .500, will I be worried? Yup. But I'll keep calm and Chive on, and let tArrogance show me the way to the promised land.

This season, do you think you can safely set the bar a little higher and still be Happy?

It really sucks to be overshadowed by UND in "every" one of those categories "every" season. I wonder who will take Bad Blood's place in infamy this season?

There are higher levels for Very Happy, and Extremely Happy.

Re: Minnesota Gopher 2012 offseason thread

Is he a 2014 recruit? What position does he play?

Apparently you're not in the loop Koho. He's the obese 285lb. goalie Hill recruited a couple years ago. Hill insisted his physique will be an unbelievable asset and the new look for BTHC goalies once we're underway.

Re: Minnesota Gopher 2012 offseason thread

Call me happy. Now back to your regularly scheduled program and feel free to relax. :)
