Minnesota Golden Gophers @ CC Tigers: Oct 29/30

Re: Minnesota Golden Gophers @ CC Tigers: Oct 29/30

Scooby may have even felt a strange feeling after this weekend, one he hasn't felt for years, a tinge of optimism.

Crazy talk! ;)

Three things stand out to me:
1. Puck support
2. Coming out the corners/sideboards/scrums with the puck
3. How much the passing has improved

Yeah, they seem to have a little more drive than last year. Still need to be a little better on weak side support. Give their speed, I'd aslo like to see a little more agression on the PK. Also, they have some lapses as far as pressuring in the nuetral zone. Overall though, they seem to push harder than last year's team. Good to see a number of players in front of the net on those goals too.

The strange thing in last nights game, was that both teams had a handful of times they tried to make a light pass to a teammate and ended up putting it right on the tape of the defender.

And what where the Gopher's thinking? When you have two years of 'puck luck' saved up, why use so much of it up in one night?
I was amazed at how much puck luck went the Gophers' way. As they say, it was one of those nights. Believe me, I'm not blaming puck luck for CC's loss by any means, just saying that ON TOP of how the game was played, that made me roll my eyes a few times last night.

CC gets a home and home with Denver next weekend, then the next weekend they play at AFA, then home against Yale. If the Tigers don't find a magic answer right now, this season could spin out of control very quickly.

No arguments here. Still can't believe this is the same team I saw against UNO.
