Do you guys think Nadine Muzerall is going to Connecticut? I'm guessing she is.

Last week I thought the Gophers would try to match Kelly Terry's line against Leforts. But what about Wisconsin, do they try to match lines against Wisconsin?

I think it is less of an issue, but I'd expect that Terry's line is out against Ammerman/Turnbull/Josephs. Wisconsin can change the rotation by running four lines, but if the Badgers want to put their fourth line out there more than once or twice, that may be more of an advantage for the Gophers than any line matchup. Wisconsin's third line is pretty good, but Minnesota has an advantage over UW's second line.

Re: Minnesota Golden Gopher Women's Hockey 2013-14 Season

My wife and I always seem to have one or two extra-favorite players on the Gophers and for the past few years it has been Kelly Terry and Sarah Davis. Our prior favorite player from a few years ago was Bobby Ross and for many of the same reasons that we like Kelly and Sarah now. They are all very good offensive players, but it is their tenacious defensive play that won our hearts. Or as my wife says, "they're scrappy." It's probably not right to compare them, but in my mind Kelly reminds me of a speeded up version of Bobby Ross. Hey they're all Canadians, too. But partly I'm just grateful that because of the Davis, Terry and Kortum line of four years ago I'm able to remember our wedding date, 9/10/11.

There really wasn't much of a UW 4th line against the Harvard 'short bench'. Molly Doner was again not dressed (because of some sort of foot injury), so Rachel Jones was again moved up to her spot on the 3rd line. I saw Kim Drake on the ice two or three times, but if either Kaity Harding or Mikayla Johnson ever got onto the ice, I didn't notice. Based on essentially nothing, I think Harding may be injured as well. One might expect much the same this week (though if Doner can go, that might change things.)

I definitely saw Johnson on the ice, because I was trying to figure out if Wisconsin was playing a 4th line.

must be a helluva marriage

so what tactical advantage does playing a 4th line give WI?
the way ours has been playing, I'd like to see that matchup

Wednesday...before the Friday Frozen Four semifinal, and so far not a peep in the St. Paul rag that I've seen. There's a lot going on in the sports realm in town right now. Most of it not very interesting...so I am a little disappointed. Maybe tomorrow.

Anything in the Strib this week so far?

The team had it's media day on Monday, and they flew out today. So the newspapers and TV can either put out their story on Monday like WCCO did, or they can hold it for later in the week. If they go the early route, then they won't have anything new for later in the week. My guess is that most will choose to do their stories Thursday night or Friday morning.

So the games are available for streaming. What about for download if I can't watch them at the time...

Conflicted as I am weighing going to the B1G tourney at the Excel, but it might be too hard to miss my ladies.

I believe the NCAA site makes full replays available. They do for the championship game for sure. Not sure about semifinals.

They do; you can watch the semis from 2012 or 2013. I don't remember how long it takes for those archives to be available. It might take a day or two.

Does anyone know if Dan is doing the game? I'd prefer to listen to him if the option exists.

He is. The one problem in the past has been that his audio feed does not synch up with the video, so there is a time delay. But otherwise, yes, it would definitely be better listening to Dan than A.J. trying to say five things at once and not really finishing any of her thoughts.

There have been times with the Gopher audio feed when I have been able to stop the audio for a few seconds, and when I start it again it starts where I stopped it. So I have been able to synch up Dan's audio with the video feed. That didn't work last weekend with the Wisconsin game, and I can't remember if it has worked every time with the Gopher feed, but it has worked at least some of the time.

Now that I think of it, it's possible this has only worked on the replay, I can't remember for sure.

For those going to Hamden, word is that the staff at Eli's on Whitney is wearing Gopher gear throughout the weekend, and someone mentioned the happy hour is pretty good.

Bring home Victory with you!
