Re: Minnesota Golden Gopher Women's Hockey 2012-2013

Sharing my Facebook update...

I suppose it's time for the streak to end... I haven't missed a Minnesota Women's Hockey game, home or away, since December 3rd. That's 27 straight games I've attended in person. But I'm a bit busy with Homecoming activities at the U. this week and won't be making the trek to Canton, NY, for the series at St. Lawrence. Bring back a couple of wins, ladies!!

I know that this thread is about the team and not about any fan, but I just enjoy following the team. It has been a blast! :)

St. Lawrence with two very tight games and two one goal losses at the hands of a strong Clarkson team. Obviously the Saints will be bent on getting into the win column and duly motivated. Let us hope the Gophs can deal with the long trip and bring it with heart and energy this weekend. An obvious big test for Minnesota. I can only assume from the Saints / Golden Knights results that St. Lawrence played very well in their first series. No doubt a step up in competitive level above Minnesota's first four games. Hope the Gophers are in good health and ready to go. Don't forget to pack the team / tight D for the trip.

I'll most likely be taking my chances on the game video stream at $8.00 per.

Sarah Davis with a shorty. 2-0 Minnesota...one done.

Gophers up 3-0 late in the 2nd. McMillan with her first as a Gopher (I think).

Re: Minnesota Golden Gopher Women's Hockey 2012-2013

Could someone ask the Gophersports game blogger to give us a little more info...make more frequent updates and clue us in on the action a little more?

Re: Minnesota Golden Gopher Women's Hockey 2012-2013

Nice job on the road tonight Gophers! From the blog it sounded like the Saints are a speedy team and had their chances. Sounded like the Gophers had good energy after the trip. Hope for more of the same tomorrow.

Seriously though...the blogger needs to actually blog a lot more. Didn't get any action update from the end of the 2nd until over halfway thru the 3rd...and not many from then to the end.

Watching the video feed with no audio (at times I thought I could hear some sort of commentary but I wasn't able to get the volume loud enough to make it out without drowning it out in background noise) I thought the Gophers were clearly the better team. The true flow of the game wasn't 5-0, but there were long stretches where St. Lawrence had trouble getting it out of their own end.

Congrats to the women's team on their victory tonight! When I got home this evening I was so happy to see they won, and rather soundly at that, if the 5-0 score is any indication. I was at the men's game at Mariucci, where the U beat Michigan State, by a similar 5-1 score. So it was a very good night for both of our No. 1 ranked teams.

Wishing the women the best of luck tomorrow, and really hoping you can come home with the sweep!

Sweep it is D2D! A great weekend...I'm relieved and pretty impressed too. Now hoping it was only a game misconduct for #8.
