Minnesota Girls High School Hockey 2020-21 Season

Makayla Moran, eighth grade, Apple Valley....3rd team all Metro as an 8th Grader. Wow. Already 5-6 too.

She is one of three sisters on a line together for AV although I think the eldest sister was hurt this year. Makayla is the most talented of the three and she was their leading scorer last year as a 7th grader. Good player that should definitely be on the radar of a few D1 coaches.

Looking forward to the Class AA final which in all likelihood will pit Andover (20-0-0) against Edina (19-0-0). Future Gophers and top scorers Hemp (3.75 PPG) vs. Connor (2.26 PPG but a tougher schedule) would be quite the matchup.

Prepspotlight.tv will have a 2 day Quarterfinal pass for 19.99 to view 8 games from A and AA. Pretty decent price for that and especially for some of the eastern lurkers that may be interested in seeing some of the Minnesota recruits that are heading out their way in the fall.

8 p.m. No. 5 Mound Westonka (14-2) vs. No. 4 Chisago Lakes (18-2)

Class 2A quarterfinals Saturday March 27

One championship decided as Proctor-Hermantown defeats Gentry Academy in the 2nd OT 3-2 for the Class A title.

Edina and Andover playing right now for the AA title...Edina leading 2-1 after 2 periods

Crazy game of momentum. Edina gets outshot 2-16 in the 1st but comes back to outshoot Andover 17-4 in the 2nd. I believe the announcer said there were 16 D1 recruits playing in this one? Whatever, great game!

Edina holds on for the 2-1 victory. Heck of a game. I think it came down to the goalie being better for Edina plus a couple of close calls that went Edina's way.

Liked how well all three Gopher recruits played in this game. Not that I'm biased or anything..

This is a college hockey thread, why are folks posting about high school hockey on here?

There is a direct line from high school to college. Many of us are looking at the players who will comprise future lines at our favorite teams. With Minnesota sending players all over the country, a thread on Minnesota high school players is a welcome and necessary read.

There are also threads discussing women's professional and Olympic teams and players, most of which are comprised of former collegians.

Yeah, MN HS hockey feeds just about every team in the NCAA (other than Clarkson smileyface), a very pertinent thread.

Some of you were nice enough to answer the question that was asked. It really wasn't necessary to do that as it should be obvious as to why a thread on Minnesota Girls High School hockey is relevant to the College Women's Hockey forum.

Some of us don't know when to shut up, LOL. How is/did the school with the 3 sisters on the same line do?

Apple Valley made the Section 3AA finals and lost to Eastview so they were one game away from making the state tournament. Not being able to go to watch high school games for over a year now has been a bummer. Looking forward to being able to attend high school games again, whenever that is, as there are some intriguing young players like the two younger Moran sisters from Apple Valley.
