Minnesota Fans...

Re: Minnesota Fans...

No, that was not the case. Not at all. The knuckle head in front of me knew what was going on, and HE was clearly being confrontational. It had nothing to do with him anyway. Everything happened the way I described it. My guess is that CANative is a Minnesota fan or from that area and he is just sticking up for his own. To blame ME and my friend for this incident because we didn't go find some other seats is wrong. And that is what you are doing to...blaming me, which is ridiculous. I didn't ask for this. I didn't want it. It upset me. And, ironically, we were the ones being treated poorly, but we were the ones trying to be nice and accommodate them by swapping seats. If we wanted to be jerks, believe me, we could have. But we were not. We didn't say a word. We just watched the game and we were respectful to the fans around us.

I didn't apologize for any wrong doing. I apologized because of the incident in general. That it happened.

Re: Minnesota Fans...

The idea that there's a systematic problem with the GWH community is utter nonsense. Personally I've attended a FF at Ridder, and FF at Mariucci and Final Face-off at Ridder. Never had a single problem. Never even a whiff of a problem. If anything, the reverse is true. As one example, staff working the souvenir/merchandise stands were unusually friendly and helpful.

The thread starter found one bad apple. Every fan base has them. And as others have pointed out, the thread starter shares a portion of the responsibility for the hurt feelings that occurred. Not excusing the bad apple, but I firmly reject the generalization.

Re: Minnesota Fans...

You are right pgb-ohio. I do not mean to slam the entire Minnesota fan base. I only wanted to point out the behavior of these bad apples and vent a little. As a few people have stated, every fan base has their bad apples. I'm sure the other 99.99% of the Minnesota fans are nice, well behaved fans.

Congratulations on your national championship.

CA - NATIVE - thus NOT a MINNESOTAN. I was PHOTOGRAPHING THE GAME! Just saying what I observed - Not saying that the Minnesota fans were right for being in your seats. But your comment came out as SARCASTIC. You may not have MEANT it that way but that is the way it SOUNDED. I agree that they should not have gotten up in your grill BUT your COMMENT when you came back LATER was pretty confrontational so you might want to look at your own behavior and own motives for wanting to sit in a section when other seats were AVAILABLE elsewhere. I sit in other seat ALL THE TIME when I get put into an opposing teams section and the arena is NOT FULL.

Well, I wouldn't go so far as to suggest sainthood for the whole group. Maybe we can settle on a figure of 95% and live happily ever after.;)

My comment was NOT confrontational. I actually felt bad for them because they were going to have to move again and that is why I made the comment...to inject some humor into what may have been an awkward situation. (Again, me being nice to the people who were rude to me back in the 1st period.)

I will also add that I don't think my comment had ANYTHING to do with their reaction, because they were rude to us in the first period as well. I truly believe (and I didn't want to go there) that they did not like us and did not want us there, in "their" section", because we were probably routing for BC.

I had no bad "behavior" and no "motives" for which you are accusing me (us) of.

Re: Minnesota Fans...

I sat near a rude Atlanta Braves fan a couple years ago. Not sure if this is the right place to bring it up, but I guess it is as applicable here as any of the other comments.
