Game misconduct means you're out the rest of the game.

Disqualification is another matter entirely and is reserved for things like fighting or particularly bad/dangerous infractions.

Mark Rycroft who used to play for DU mentioned a Match Penalty==haven't really heard of that, but...

I think that might be the first time I've seen a DQ for anything other than fighting. Or my memory is shot.

Don't think Rau got a DQ. could be wrong. but i think he only got a 5 and a Game misconduct. again correct me if i wrong. Just went to the Denver live stats.

Rau was given a game misconduct per the DU blog (I asked Bacher) and will play tomorrow.

Gophers look like they finally came to play... too bad they waited to the 3rd period... however, there is still time to put 2-3 goals in... stranger things have happened

I'm sure the league will review that hit. I don't know if they are capable / up to the task of taking immediate action, but I would fully expect a suspension to come out of it.

The live stats from the WCHA have the penalty as a 5 Minute Major for boarding and a game misconduct. Regardless, the league may still hand out a suspension on Monday.
