Hockey is a fast-paced and often violent game where players make bad/stupid decisions. I can all but guarantee you will continue seeing situations like this one if you continue watching the sport.

Pretty big indictment of Rau

Russo is a standup guy and the fact that he said, "That hit by Rau is despicable. Could have brewed coffee between puck leaving and hit." means something.

FYI - Russo is a beat writer for the Wild and probably knows more and follows the game of hockey closer than most people.

Per the DU live blog, no word on the Zucker or Mayfield injuries yet. Mayfield is back on the bench and twirling on the ice so he must be ok.

Edit: Zucker is officially out for the game with an upper body injury..

So, he gets an extra game? I've never heard of that. A 5 usually means you're done for the game your playing, not the next one.

Misconduct means you are out of the current game. A DQ means you are out for the current game and the next.
