Minnesota @ Clarkson & St.Lawrence: 10/28 & 10/29

Re: Minnesota @ Clarkson & St.Lawrence: 10/28 & 10/29

1. Got my arrow.
2. I am assuming I'll be able to watch the Clarkson game on Saturday? Plan to be shooting at things on Friday and without it on TV, can't record it. So hoping I'll be able to watch later (Only wish there were a way to start watching without seeing the outcome while looking for the link. So much better to watch without knowing.)
3. Gopher forwards better get more aggressive in their own end. Against SCSU, there was too much standing around waiting followed by an attempted poke check that missed. More intensity is needed for an entire game, and not just on the offensive end. For all the Collins haters out there (this years designated defensive scapegoat who will be blamed for every loss and given zero credit) I thought he was one one of the bright spots as far as attacking players in his own zone and hitting. (Not saying he doesn't make some mistakes and have some mobility issues, but he deserves some credit as well.)
#3 -> "You must spread"...

Re: Minnesota @ Clarkson & St.Lawrence: 10/28 & 10/29

I assume the stream is good, assuming good internet?

Get ready for an influx of Gopher fans raiding it. The AK schools always seemed to suffer from overload due to that. Great quality otherwise.....

Re: Minnesota @ Clarkson & St.Lawrence: 10/28 & 10/29

So you're saying the Gophers are playing a non-conference game on the road? What the heck? :)

Re: Minnesota @ Clarkson & St.Lawrence: 10/28 & 10/29

Note the teams they are playing. Not good ones. ;)
?
These are likely to be 2 of the better teams in the ECAC this year.

In the past few years the Gophers have been on the road to Vermont, a couple times to Boston, a couple times to Notre Dame, this series to upstate NY, Alaska to start this season, and of course all the road games with MN teams.

Ignore the troll.

tArrogance shuts down one and all. ;)

Then it may not hold. We've had trouble with the stream when a lot of people watch. I'll alert the powers that be.

Typically both streams are pretty good quality. SLU is sort of a low camera angle, simply due to arena constraints. I haven't tuned into Clarkson's stream recently, but I can say that SLU's isn't necessarily a "production", if that makes sense. Pretty much just a single camera at center ice with the radio broadcast overlayed.

Re: Minnesota @ Clarkson & St.Lawrence: 10/28 & 10/29

If anyone is coming East they are two small but unique rinks. Appleton where we play is sort of known as the "Fenway Park" of college hockey arena's. All wood, all old fashioned, small, but absolutely classic and gorgeous in it's own way. It is a definite throwback...but, like Fenway Park will likely not be replaced anytime soon.
Was glad to see that despite both of these rinks being called "small" the ice surfaces themselves are both regulation size 200 x 85. The Gophers are used to a 200 x 100 Olympic sized surface so they would likely struggle on anything less than 200 x 85. I assume the Gophers were practicing at Ridder (the women's arena next door, which is 200 x 85) this week, as they typically do in order to better prepare for most away series.

I think Critsports was going for the "cozy/intimate" meaning, Appleton (SLU) more so than Cheel (Clarkson).

Thanks. We Gopher folks get all riled up when it's not on TV. Not kidding. It's considered a crime against humanity. So if the stream crashes or gets choppy....just sayin'.

Re: Minnesota @ Clarkson & St.Lawrence: 10/28 & 10/29

Wonder if either of the teams are stopping in Lake Placid to take a quick visit.

Re: Minnesota @ Clarkson & St.Lawrence: 10/28 & 10/29

#2 -> See Post #3 on this thread

So will both games be archived on these sights so can be watched a day or two later? Looks like might not be able to watch Saturday game live either.

I believe SLU archives games, but you'd have to spend $8 to watch a replay (through Boxcast), though it is a free stream. I haven't looked at it myself, but I believe I've read that elsewhere.

Clarkson info I'll leave to joecct.

OK, a little lost with this one. Please translate.
Just tried to give you some positive rep for your point #3 above, but this site blocks you from doing that if don't sufficiently spread your rep around.

A heads-up for Wisco. and Minn. fans who might expect to see video replays. Due to the low ceiling at Appleton, SLU does not have a video scoreboard and instead has non-video scoreboards on both ends of the rink. And, SLU's video stream does not have instant replay. Cameras are in place above the nets. though, for video reviews but those at the rink and watching the video stream do not see the reviews.

Re: Minnesota @ Clarkson & St.Lawrence: 10/28 & 10/29

@gopherstate: As part of #Gophers playing Clarkson & St. Lawrence, Clarkson comes to Mariucci next year & SLU in 2019-20. Go back to Upstate NY in '18-19.

Very nice to see this will be a several year arrangement, in particular that it will be 2 for 2 (Wisconsin is believed to be involved through it as well).

Re: Minnesota @ Clarkson & St.Lawrence: 10/28 & 10/29

Congrats to Clarkson. You made us look like ***.
