That's twice a miami player checked a michigan player from behind into the boards... They call the tickey tak calls, but miss the important ones?????

If that hit on Treais had been at a part of the board with glass, that's a 5-minute boarding call. I don't understand what these refs are doing.

Not to hijack the thread, but that was a situation where the referees really need to call the dive and nothing else. Even if they had caught the dive, I'm 100% certain they would've still called the Michigan penalty. As long as that happens, players will continue to take a dive with impunity (well, unless they play for a team that is really, really bad in 4 on 4 situations).

This is the best game I've seen all year. By far.

It's a shame only one of these teams will move on.

Yeah I've never understood that call either. It's either a dive or it isn't, you can't call both players. Although in this case I guess sending them both would've been an improvement. I don't understand how the ref missed this one, it wasn't even a clever dive, probably one of the most obvious I've ever seen.

Anyway for the 3rd period I like Michigan's chances if they stay out of the box, they've been by far the better team 5 X 5. Wohlberg has been a man possessed...best player on the ice by far.

Such a huge if- since we started the period with ANOTHER penalty.

And Miami matches it.

I've gone back and forth on this one. I think someone can commit a penalty that should be called, but the other player *also* embellishes, thus you give both penalties. You are basically agreeing that there was a penalty, but giving the diver a discouragement from continuing his ways.
If there is only a dive and no penalty, then just a penalty on the diver is sufficient.
