The rather obvious 2 m Checking from behind when Downing was tackled from behind was so blatant. How could they miss that?
Well that was a fun series as a Wolverine fan. Bring on the *****eyes.
Hard to believe aOSU is 6-11-1 when you look at the results from the holiday tourney in Florida: blanking #9 Cornell 8-0, and beating #4 BC 3-2. They are 3-0-1 in their last 4, the previously mentioned wins, and a win and shootout loss at Wisconsin. Prior to that they dropped 2 at Minnesota, but took both nights to overtime.
This could be a much better match-up this weekend then the win/loss records would lead one to believe.
I have said all year i like this team they played a brutal schedule to start the year ( i know Miami doesnt look so tough now) and played pretty well losing some close games. That Series at Minnesota was heartbreaking losing that 2 goal lead in the 3rd on Friday and then losing in Ot both nights. Beating BC after being down 2-0 after playing just 2:29 was pretty impressive. Looking forward to this weekend.
I am in now way trying to take anything away from ohio state but BC was without their top scorer who was at World Juniors.
Can't use that argument any more than we can having at least one player a season to the WJT and we still manage to win the GLI tourney. BC is loaded and has one of the top netminders in the NCAA's. They got beat by a team that was trying to turn their season around and have done that nicely.
For as much prestige as the GLI receives I do not think it the GLI is that great. I know it's the oldest college tourny but sparty sucks, Tech is Tech, and the invite team (NMU this year) isn't much. Next year wastern comes to Detroit, I wouldn't call that a step-up from Northern. Bowling Green isn't that bad this year but who knows how they will be in 2017 when they are the invite. There have been some decent teams overthe years but the point is it's not all that it is cracked up to be.
That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
Interesting that you try to convince us how great our team is, and then take away some significance of how good the opponents were. All in the name of down playing an upcoming opponent.
Instead, we should look at OSU as an improving team- one that we MUST beat, but one that could me a much tougher team than MSU was.
BC is a loaded team- so while there may have been a slight talent drop off, they still should have been the better team. They were not. OSU is getting better.
And Michigan a-holes are what they are. uMICH, you take the cake.
Terrible performance on Friday night, but at least the offense fought back and put them in a position to steal three points at the end, until ANOTHER defensive breakdown led to the GTG. Take the point and try to get back on track at home.
So do you all over here think Conner will be in college next year? or is he a one and done like larkin was.?
If Northern isn't much, how did it take a 3rd period comeback for Michigan to squeak out a 3-2 win in a game in which the shots and scoring chances were virtually equal? I mean, Michigan is the greatest thing to ever happen to college hockey. Shouldn't this have been a blowout? For as much prestige as the GLI receives I do not think it the GLI is that great.
