Michigan Tech vs Michigan at Yost Time for tBig Time

Re: Michigan Tech vs Michigan at Yost Time for tBig Time

Officially it is only listed for website- gametracker and radio. No TV.

MGoBlueTV video $tream.

For Michigan fans, get one. You get a ton of great stuff with the package. I'm on the football pass which runs through January and then I'm going to yearly $80 package.

Re: Michigan Tech vs Michigan at Yost Time for tBig Time

After talking with my parents last night, I suspect that they will be more diciplined. As they report it, the team and Mel didn't exacly see even with the refs, and after a meeting with them, now have an understanding of some of the new rules, and how they will be called. So, I bet it will be even better than against Northern.
There is disagreeing with the officials and then there is racking up 29, 22, 85 and 42 minutes in penalties in four different road games.

I pay 400.00 for tickets, live. Don't need it. They are not televised a handful of times this season, I can live with that.

Wow, how classy. Attacking a legend. I'd wager that some day when Yost arena is retired, a new rink in Berenson's name will be established. I'm also betting that at 72 he's in better shape than some people half his age.
Yeah, just go ahead and ignore the real legend at Michigan. Yost should have been rededicated to recognize the father of Michigan Hockey and the only reason Michigan Hockey has any claim to "best college hockey program ever," Vic Heyliger. If it wasn't for what Heyliger did for Michigan in the first 10 years of the NCAA championship, Michigan wouldn't be even close to the top of the list in college hockey...but yeah, just keep playing hockey in a building named after an AD who was a football coach.

That's the point... thank you. There are more than a few "legends" at Michigan.

Appreciate the kind remarks.

I know- they report it as more a confustion of how some new rules would be called. In theory, the games against Northern, that was cleaned up- and they did have less penalties.

I'm just expecting more of a clean game than you, I guess.

I don't know what to expect. The games at the GLI can be somewhat chippy, but at Yost... with Mel and Billy... it can be a bit emotional on behalf of the kids, especially in a spirited environment. Tech has had good goaltending so far that has kept them in games. The only outliar was the 7-3 game in South Bend.

I still fail to see how that is a bad thing.

Not many buildings get their names changed. There's a building on campus calll East Engineering, when the engineering school moved to a different part of town decades ago. I don't suspect the name will change just to satisfy people who don't matter at all.

770+ wins. That's about 26.5 per season. 2 NC's. It stands on its own merits.

I get the dislike, but your trolling act is old.

Luckily for you, it is possible to ignore it.

Has the Michigan band learned how to play another song yet? Or do they play that some piece of **** after every single ****ing whistle? Its enough to make one want to be deaf.

No, they have not- so you should go ahead and poke out your ear drums with sharp sticks. Make them extra long, and get them in deep. it will feel a lot better then, I promise.

No need, I have better things to do than travel to that ****hole city.

You don't find it at all odd that a program with as much tradition and success at Michigan's hockey team, plays in a building named after a football coach, it's not like the program is lacking "legends" in their history deserving of that honor?

Re: Michigan Tech vs Michigan at Yost Time for tBig Time

What if they renamed the rink after Vic Heyliger? That would be fitting, although unlikely.

It really does suck when your program is so bad. So much latent anger!! Drink heavily, that's the answer.

No. Some may recognize that Yost's contributions lead to buildings like that arena, they go far, far beyond football, and if not for things he and other people did at the turn of the century, Tech may not even have college hockey.

The building has hosted many historic things, Hockey is just the most recent. The name Yost reminds us that there's more than hockey out there.

A better question is why does it bother you? Why do you even care?

It's not odd. They play basketball in an arena also named after a football coach. They have a football hall named after a modern legend. They have a football practice building
(2009) named after a large donor. Canham ran track & field but his name is on the Natatorium where swimming, diving and water polo takes place. It's not about the building, but what happens in the building anyway.

If these are the only scabs that, as Alfa mentioned "outsiders who don't care/matter" can pick at, then it is reaching pretty far.

I mean, it's great aligning a coach's name on a building that actually houses the sport he represented, but it's even better winning in that building and honoring the person's contributions to the school.

Have you even noticed that the foodball stadium is NOT named after a football legend? Not named after anyone.

maybe they should name that after Vic Heyliger, it would only make sense in the name conventions at Michigan.
