Michigan Tech post season thread, hunting for hardware!

Re: Michigan Tech post season thread, hunting for hardware!

they chartered a flight. they do fly commercial when needed (read Alaska) and can schedule out far enough.

Re: Michigan Tech post season thread, hunting for hardware!

Me too.
I can certainly see him turning them down, as long as he has the support of the fans, admin etc. AND He has repeatedly said he is staying.

If Michigan wants Mel and pursues him hard, I can't see him turning them down. Michigan is a top 5 job in college hockey along with BC, BU, Minnesota and North Dakota.

Mel has admin support. and fans, heck yes! I don't feel like digging in the weeds to find this out, but I suspect tMel is making more $$ than tRed.

Base Salaries:
Melvin Pearson: $275,000
Gordon Berenson: $238,702

I was curious so I looked it up since they are both public universities therefore have reported salaries for faculty. And if you adjusted those for cost of living, tMel makes that much more than tRed. I'm not going to lie, I am very surprised by my findings here.

*Edit for the Tech assistant coach salaries if curious*
William Muckalt: $89,500
Joseph Shawhan: $60,500

Even these are more than enough to live in the Houghton/Hancock area.

The NCAA actually charters the flight for tournament games. That also allows them to have a plane waiting after the regional semifinals where two teams could be flying, two flight plans are filed and then the losing team takes that plane.

I will say Scheels Arena is really nice, should be a great place to watch the games.

When/where do people plan on meeting up tomorrow? I know there's an Alumni gathering at Mexican Village at 2:30 and that's maybe 2 minutes from the arena, but I know some of you mentioned trying to start around noon, just let me know where either here or by PM and I'll be there.

Checking out Fargo Brewing Company, definitely good beer, everyone should check it out.

Re: Michigan Tech post season thread, hunting for hardware!

Our convoy should be arriving in Fargo slightly before noon and since it's too early to check in I believe we plan to start tailgating right away at the arena.

Re: Michigan Tech post season thread, hunting for hardware!

Apparently someone at the NCAA dropped the ball as no charter flight for MTU fans was booked out of Denver. You would think after 34 years we would have been higher on their priority list. I guess I'll just fly commercial and see you all tomorrow.
Go Tech!

I hope the team gives all the great Tech fans a lot to cheer about this weekend. Enjoy the ride.

It's my birthday. I only want one thing this year.

22 miles to Minnesota.

Here's the reconstructed line chart for Michigan Tech when they beat NMU 5-2 on March 28, 1981.

Great stuff as always. Thanks!

I noticed a Schwartz on the Tech D corp for the 81 team. Any relation to Jaden Schwartz on the Blues?
