Michigan Tech Offseason I - New teams, new scoreboard, new goals... bring it on!

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason I - New teams, new scoreboard, new goals... bring it on!

Should've been a few more Tech goals last night, but Laurentian's goalie was very good - shots 59-21. Lots for Tech to work on this week.

The only committed recruit that hasn't played yet is Tristan Rostagno with Muskegon...

Jake Jackson has only played one game in Des Moines and was a minus 3.

Looking forward to heading to South Bend for the ND series. Tickets are expensive.

Is Pietila going to play center this year?
Great to see Furne in the top 6, he performed under his level last year.
Should be competitive to see who travels to Duluth.
Hope Tech can hit the ground running in the first series of the year.

Man, that highlights video is frustrating to watch. It would really be nice if they'd let us see the plays develop rather than skipping right to the shot.

Nice to see the Huskies fight back and earn a tie this evening, winning the shootout for bragging rights (completely meaningless for a non-conference game but they did it anyway cause the game was in an NCHC building).

The biggest plus for the Huskies this weekend is 2 goals allowed on 63 shots through 2 games despite play 6 and 7 freshman respectively. Phillips and Copley both looked solid. The freshmen didn't look out of place and managed to score both of the goals this weekend. The biggest worry is the power play (0/11) and goal scoring in general. Great opportunities but not able to finish most of their chances. Faceoffs were almost even for the weekend, losing the battle 30-37 friday and rebounding with 29-23 tonight.

Of interest, Blake Hietila and Tyler Heinonen traveled with the team and replaced Jacob Johnstone and Blake Pietila in the lineup tonight...so that means Holmberg, Anderson and Sturos stayed home with the injured defensemen and Wintjes.

Hmmm which forward is now our 7th D emergency replacement and will be traveling a lot in October.
