Michigan Tech Offseason I - New teams, new scoreboard, new goals... bring it on!

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason I - New teams, new scoreboard, new goals... bring it on!

Sounds like he's more of a stay-at-home defenseman who can chip in on offense, which we can definitely use more of.

He should complement Hanna and mix in well with the other offensive d-man on the roster.

So much for those BTHC recruiting benefits... :D

Ericsson still coming next year then I assume?

I like this quote. Mainly because it was the exact thing going through my mind as I was scrolling up to it.

Wait, so we just fell into an NHL draft pick, 2 months before the season starts? How the eff does that happen? :p

Ha, that was my thought as well. Nothing like a picture of disappointed gopher's fans :)
Not that, its the fact that it is Dillo, Mrs. Dillo, Linda and WPoS in the picture. :D

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason I - New teams, new scoreboard, new goals... bring it on!

THG (me) is reporting that defenseman, Cliff Watson, will replace Ericsson on the 2013-14 roster. Watson was formerly committed to Ohio State...
Reading one of the linked articles, it said that Cliff originally looked at WI and Miami before signing with Ohio State. I wonder if he had the option to reconsider those schools now or if their rosters were full and they had to turn him away? Regardless, nice pick up for the Huskies and with all seriousness I do think it is not blind luck that an NHL drafted player finds his way to Tech this late in the off season. I have to believe that Pearson's 20+ years of developing NHL quality players at that downstate school has not gone unnoticed by NHL team staff.

Not that I think Tech's logo is any good, but I have to call BS that it appears a pre-selected field of 16 was chosen to avoid the first round. There's no way in hell that Northern's and Grand Valley's logos are any less cartoony and dumb than ours.
