Wow, that pretty much looks like my prediction. But with MTU swapping with Mankato.

well here's my two cents.

Mankato- success depends on williams repeating his performance of early in the year- he was pretty average at the end, they did get a couple of highly touted recruits though. will be ranked most of the year I think.
MTU- goaltending has to improve, but many good parts, and I'd say a lot of depth, maybe the best depth in the league.
FSU- I understand they have an excellent recruiting class. BG coach has them right up there.
Bemidji- I think their style will surprise people who are not used to it.
Alaska- did well last year, beat out most of the ccha teams here. I really don't know their situation though.
BGSU- goaltending an issue, losing top defenseman. returning the rest and lot's of upperclassmen.
NMU- could be good, hard to tell, goaltending questions
LSSU- most defenders returning and goalies. offensive questions
UAA- will be playing harder, but short on talent.
Huntsville- need a few years to be back.

looks like McCarren is going to drop wmu and sign with the london knights. Big mistake if you ask me but well, it's his life.

I think we're going to find that a majority of the guys who go in the 1st and 2nd rounds will end up in the CHL. We can debate the merits of extra practice/coaching vs. more game experience, but at the end of the day, organizations that draft a player that high expect him to join their team and produce sooner rather than later, and the only way to prove that is with game time.

Its a good thing whenever one of those teams lose a player to Juniors.

This goes beyond the new "party lines". We should want as many as top prospects choosing the NCAA as possible, since it encourages more of them to take the NCAA route.

Certain teams still prefer the CHL route, Montreal's track record on top 2 round players staying in the NCAA route is rare. From what I found, they almost always go Major Junior if the Canadiens take them that high...

Another nice effort by MTU hockey to connect with the local community with a HS hockey camp. $100 for four days of instruction and ice time = BARGIN!

So when is the 21 and over 3-day weekend "Huskies Adult Hockey Fantasy Camp"....? *hint, hint*
A little chalk talk, class room instruction for rec players and ice time during the day, with pickled eggs, pasties, beer/soda and hockey talk downtown at night.
Heck I would even let them throw in a fund raising session if we all get jerseys with our names on them. ;-)

I saw that announcement on Twitter and thought it was a great idea. Also gives the staff a chance to scout the Yoopers a little more, so that when they produce a potential AHLer once every decade or so ;), we get to recruit him first. But all kidding aside, hopefully this becomes an annual thing and encourages a few more local kids to raise their game and aspire to play NCAA hockey at Tech.

I think NHL Development camps over, and we didn't lose anyone to an AHL contract, that's always good.


Any rumors on the volunteer coach?
