Michigan Tech Offseason 2014: Nothing To Say

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason 2014: Nothing To Say

probably not Monday. a couple of candidates have been on campus, but no final decisions.

That's the best you got " a couple of candidates"? We don't pay all that money for info like that.

my theory is the administration told Mel to really take his time and hire a guy who can take over the program if Mel leaves at some point.

I don't think quite that way. More likely to me, they are in no hurry and are saving money in the budget they can use somewhere else.

taking their time because they want to find exactly the right fit. who are we to question tMelPearson?

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason 2014: Nothing To Say

my theory is the administration told Mel to really take his time and hire a guy who can evaluate/recruit talented players, coach them to a higher level, as well as help build a winning program which will capture the GLI, post a winning regular season record overall, a WCHA regular season title, a WCHA playoff title, NCAA bid, win an NCAA playoff game, win an NCAA regional championship and an NCAA national championship (in no particular order) before I die.
There was a typo in your post, but I corrected it.
One down, seven to go. I'm not getting any younger.

Tanner Kero, Minnesota
Cliff Watson, San Jose
Blake Pietila, New Jersey
Jamie Phillips, Winnipeg
Shane Hanna, Winnipeg

I suppose Dane Birks and Jacob Jackson area at their NHL teams as well. Not a bad list of 9 current/future players. If I remember right, David Johnstone was at Winnipeg's last year. They've been keeping their on Tech players recently I guess.

Hopefully we hear something soon on the AC announcement!

My new theory - their top target turned the job down early last week, and now they're taking their time mulling over two or three remaining candidates who have equal strengths and weaknesses.

I'm pretty sure the decision is made, the contract still needs to be finalized. I bet we hear something this week.
